That's a wrap to our proceedings of Match 65 of the Indian Premier League 2023 where RCB got the points and stayed in the playoffs race. Join us back tomorrow for Match 66 between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals live from Dharamsala. Stay tuned for more cricketing actions across the globe in our network.

This is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide and Ninaad Dixit alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Virat Kohli (POTM): "Quite special considering where we are placed in the points table and the magnitude of the game. I thought Hyderabad got a very good score. The ball was gripping in between overs as well. We wanted a good, solid start and didn't expect to be 172 without loss. But that's how well me and Faf has played this season. He is at a different level. I have had a quiet couple of games in the last few but the way I was hitting the ball in the nets, it wasn't transitioning in the last 2-3 games. So I wanted to make an impact and my intent from ball one was to go after the bowlers. Something that I have done through the season. There was a little bit of dip but I wanted to pick the game from my time.

I was telling the boys the way I am looked at as an IPL player as well. Its like 'he's fine few impact knocks.' Its my 6th IPL 100. I don't give myself enough credit for it. Because I am under a lot of stress already. I don't care what anyone says on the outside because its that their opinion. When you are in a situation then you know how to win games and I have done that for a long time. Its playing a situation that I take the pride in. I've never been a guy who tries so many fancy shots. You have to play 12 months a year.

Its just amazing to bat with Faf we've got around 900 runs this season together. I enjoy batting with him just as I enjoyed with AB. There was just an understanding of where the game is going and what needs to be done. We pump each other and give each other feedback on how we can play certain bowlers. Its a beautiful transition for us to come at top for RCB and making an impact which is so important.

I just feel very blessed and grateful. Crowd here was amazing as well. I told Faf when I was batting at 70 or 75, I was feeling it like a home game as they were chanting RCB and my name as well. I haven't forced anyone to follow me or get inspired by me. I have been myself on the field, I do everything that I do on the field very honestly and I think that resonates with people and I am happy that they get happy watching me play. Its such an amazing position to be in that you can provide happiness to so many people."
Virat Kohli is the player of the match.
Faf du Plessis (Royal Challengers Bangalore Captain): "Yes, sure. Amazing chase. We did feel it was a good wicket. 200 was a par score. Klaasen played well but hardly any balls spun here. Look, we are doing the right things.

Clinical with the bat and ball in the previous game. So, we want to continue in the same way. We compliment each other and we are like-minded and we talk to each other and love batting with each other.

Yes, it's been a good ride and now going back home I am sure the crowds will be up for it in a must-win game against Gujarat. Looking forward to it."

11:18 PM IST: Time for the post-match presentation.
Glenn Maxwell (Royal Challengers Bangalore): "It's been a long time on the road for us. We knew we had to be in a position from where we can be at a striking distance. We are peaking at the right time in the tournament. Klaasen's knock was sensational. Some shots that he played through covers in the powerplay were great. As soon as our bowlers bowled short, he punished them. Siraj went under 20 tonight with not much assistance from the surface. Parnell also bowled very well. Maybe we were one seamer short but credit to them for the way they bowled. When those guys are chasing, they know exactly what they want to do. The left-arm spin was turning from one end and not turning from the other. They knew when and whom to attack. It's a great time for us to take on the table toppers at home."
Aiden Markram (Sunrisers Hyderabad Skipper): "I thought we batted very well. We left a few in the powerplay but Klaasen played a fantastic knock. But credit to them for the way they played. The crowd support not for us but also for RCB has been incredible. We couldn't give our fans a win in our last home game. It's sports at the end of the day. We will be looking to win the game and end the tournament on a winning note. It was a good day for us today but some brilliant knocks from Faf and Virat took the game away from us. We needed to look at some guys moving forward. Maybe one bowler short in the powerplay. It's hard to come against these guys. They tried hard. Klaasen's knock was very special. For him to score a hundred in the IPL, I don't think he ever dreamed of it. Shame that it didn't finish on the winning side."
11:01 PM IST: Royal Challengers Bangalore climbs upto 4th in the points table with a thumping 8-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. They keep their hopes of qualification for the playoffs alive against a listless Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling line-up. It was all about Virat Kohli today ably supported by skipper Faf du Plessis after Heinrich Klaasen lit up the night with his majestic ton earlier in the evening.

Chasing a stiff 187 for the win to keep their hopes alive, RCB came out all guns blazing courtesy of their openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. Virat was the aggressor as he showed great intent there. Faf played the perfect role of second fiddle. Virat scored his 6th IPL hundred as he scored an magnificent 100 off 63 balls as the duo shared a 172-run stand for the first wicket. Skipper Faf du Plessis scored 71 off 47 balls as he played second fiddle in that partnership. Both of them got out towards the end when the damage was done. Glenn Maxwell remained unbeaten on 5* off 3 balls while Michael Bracewell remained unbeaten on 4* off 4 balls as RCB got home with 4 balls left.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan got a wicket each towards the end but the damage was done. Mayank Dagar was economical amidst the carnage as he gave away 25 runs in 4 overs. But all, in all a listless bowling performance from Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Earlier in the game, Sunrisers put into bat first lost Abhishek Sharma for 11 while Rahul Tripathi fell for 15. Aiden Markram struggled for his 18 off 20 balls. But it was the Heinrich Klaasen show as the South African keeper batter got to his maiden IPL hundred. He scored 104 off 51 balls. Harry Brook scored a quickfire 27 off 19 balls as SRH ended with a competitive 186/5 in 20 overs.

Michael Bracewell was the pick of the bowlers for RCB as he bowled just 2 overs and picked up a couple of wickets for 13 runs. Mohammed Siraj supported him well as he gave away just 17 runs in 4 overs and picked up a wicket. A wicket also to Shahbaz Ahmed and Harshal Patel but they went for runs in the end. All in all, a tough day for the bowlers as RCB got over the line in the end.

This is the first time that we have a hundred in both the innings of a match in IPL history. RCB climbs to 4th in the points table and destiny is firmly in their hands as far as qualification is concerned. Another disappointing performance from SRH comes to an end. Stick around for the presentation ceremony that comes your way soon.
