Milestone
That's it from another good game of cricket in the Indian Premier League 2023. Time to say goodbye on behalf of Akshaya Krishna and Paras Yadav and myself, Ninaad Dixit. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Rashid Khan (Player of the Match): "Its just about making sure you don't give that much of a signal for the batsmen to pick you, make it easy for them. In the last 2 years I have worked to minimize the different between the leg spin and the googly. I am trying my best to hold that in the same grip in everything. So far it has got a bit time to make it perfect. I am working a lot in the nets to make it harder for the batsmen.

Sometimes you use the lines and lengths. As long as I am hitting the right areas, it becomes hard for the batters and when I lose the line and length then it becomes easier to hit.

I keep things simple. On a bad day I think what I did wrong. What went against me. I feel I bowled few bad deliveries which were finished and in T20 you don't have time to bowl those bad balls. I talk with my video analyst and see the pitch map and correct myself in the nets to bowl in the right areas.

That is something which makes it easier for both of us. We speak Pashto and it makes easier for Noor as well. I can translate things for him which makes it easier. Hardik tells me to stay close to him and speak in his language.

We have more than 1000 wrist spinners in Afghanistan. I went to an academy and saw so many there. That was the first year of me in IPL when there were 250 wrist spinners. The impact it had back home in 5-6-7 years is now even more. I am receiving messages and videos of the spinners. The opportunities the guys like Mujeeb, Qais, Zahir get and the ones in the future will be good for them."
Player of the Match: Rashid Khan
Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans Captain): "I let Rashid handle the business with Noor. They speak the same language and I think no one's better than Rashid to communicate and tell Noor what's good and what is not and that has been something that is fantastic.

There's not much I have to do. The only time I say do I want a slip or any other field changes. They are confident and know what to do. When I see that something is not right then we have a conversation but more often than not they know what they have to do.

I've always found Wriddhi one of the best keepers I have played with. Its not easy to pick Rashid Khan and Noor, the way they've been bowling and at the speed they bowl at. Wicketkeeping is a thankless job but at the same point of time the way he adds that value.

At the end of the day we know we have to be professionals. We are relaxed till you are doing your job. If you are not on the park and just roaming around then its just something its just a chat either me or Ashu pa will have to pull up our socks. Something which we really want to go ahead is finishing games and be ruthless as well.

Today my job was half done by the time Shubman got out. At the same point of time I got a lot of time to think to what happened in the last game. I never shied away from taking responsibility or even when I make a mistake I like to accept it because acceptance is the biggest key in your life to learn. What happened in the last 2 games could be my learning."

10:38 PM IST | Time for the post-match presentations.
Wriddhiman Saha (Gujarat Titans): "Haha, feeling good (says something in Bengali talking to Deep Dasgupta). We are continuing the trademark we set for ourselves since last year. We have got multiple match winners in our bowling unit and hence the Purple Cap keeps moving. (chuckles as Dasgupta says that Purple Cap is moving around among GT bowlers).

My role is simple and defined. I have to use the powerplay. A couple of shots I played gave me confidence. Ahh...Reading both leg spinners (Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad) is a difficult thing. The late I move behind the stumps get me in a better position to collect the ball even if I fail to read the googly."
Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals Captain): "Absolutely, actually you summed up it really well. Tough night for us. We did have a very good start in the powerplay but then their spinners came into play and our bowlers didn't have enough to defend. Around 120 is a bit too much to ask for from the bowlers.

As I said, they bowled really well and picked wickets continuously. We didn't read one or two balls here and there, they did well. See, we have another night game here. We can't go too deep into it. But definitely, we need to pull our socks up. We are very hungry to win upcoming games."
10:23 PM IST: Gujarat Titans win their 7th game of the season defeating the Rajasthan Royals by a big margin of 9 wickets to keep their top spot on the points table! The spinners lead the show in the first innings sharing 5 wickets amongst them and then all the 3 batters shared the 119 runs between them to win in the 14th over.

Royals skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bat first but after a good powerplay with the bat, nothing went right with the hosts as they bundled for 118 in the 18th over with Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad sharing 5 wickets between them.

Chasing a modest total, the openers Wriddhiman Saha (41*) and impact player Shubman Gill (36) started off well adding 49 runs in the powerplay without a scare as Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma failed to bowl in good areas and did not trouble the openers.

Royals' 4th bowler tonight Yuzi Chahal was the only wicket taker when he invited Shubman Gill to move outside his crease and outfoxed him with the sharp turn the wily spinner was extracting from this surface. Skipper Hardik Pandya (39* off 15) joined Saha in the middle and took no time in ensuring the Titans hopped over the line with 37 balls remaining.

Chahal was the only bowler with any breakthrough with Sandeep Sharma bowling a tidy wicketless spell in the powerplay. Adam Zampa bowled 3 overs but was taken to the cleaners by Pandya hitting him for 3 sixes and a four in his final over.

Stay tuned as we bring you the post match festivities.
