That concludes the presentation and that also wraps up the 44th encounter in IPL 2023 between GT & DC. Another day and another last-ball thriller in the competition. Join us tomorrow for a doubleheader and stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. For now, this is Megh Mandaliya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ayan Chatterjee and Akshay Bhide alongside our scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Cheers!
Mohammed Shami (Player of the Match): "Just trying my best to bowl at the right lines and lengths and the right areas no matter which format I am bowling. Disappointed that we lost today. It was not a difficult score to chase. We lacked that one partnership and it happens in the game of cricket. The ball was not swinging much so should have chased it down. But plenty of games still to go and I am sure we will bounce back."
Player of the Match: Mohammed Shami
David Warner (Delhi Capitals Skipper): "Our bowlers were amazing. Our batters struggled early on. Shami presented a good seam. We lost early wickets. But Aman and Ripal played the anchor role. It was a fantastic way to finish our innings. We just keep finding ways to keep losing wickets. I don't know what happening with our batting honestly. We tried to have a positive intent today but it didn't come off eventually.

We wanted to swing the new ball and get wickets. Khaleel was brilliant on this comeback and Ishant is getting forever younger. I was getting nervous when Tewatia was going off. Nortje could not get it right today but Ishant was always clear what plans he wanted to execute."
Active Catch of the Match: Wriddhiman Saha
Longest Six Hit in the Match: Rahul Tewatia (88 m)
Most Fours Hit in the Match: Hardik Pandya (7 fours)
Most Valuable Asset of the Match: Mohammed Shami
Game Changer of the Match: Mohammed Shami
Electric Striker of the Match: Ripal Patel
11:23 PM IST: Time for the post-match presentation.
This is the lowest total defended by Delhi Capitals in IPL's history.
Ishant Sharma (Delhi Capitals): "I was just practicing bowling wide yorkers in the nets. The hard work pays off. When you are preparing yourself in the nets, we plan how to bowl to certain batters. I don't think what people think. I just keep believing in myself and try to nail those yorkers. I have played enough cricket with Tewatia. I just knew I had to double-bluff him and go with the shorter deliveries. To be honest, we don't think what target we have on the board. We just try to execute the plans and bowl the best balls. We just have to carry the momentum forward and hope for the best in the future."
Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans Skipper): "Obviously, we would have taken 129 on any given day. Just lost a couple of wickets but Rahul got us back in the game. I tried hard but failed to get across the line. We were hoping to get a couple of big overs in the middle overs. We couldn't get a rhythm as well.

It comes down to me as I couldn't finish the game. But full marks for the way they bowled. The wicket didn't play much role. It was about us feeling the pressure due to the loss of wickets. Rahul got us back in the game but it wasn't enough. We kept losing wickets and it was difficult to keep the intent. That put us under more pressure.

I feel sorry for Shami to be honest. The batters were disappointed tonight. The ball didn't do a lot. It was all about Shami's skills tonight. Full credit to him. But as I said, the batters were disappointed and I was not good at all.

Still a lot of games left. We will take learnings from this game and look to rectify those in the upcoming games. We need to keep playing good cricket."
11:08 PM IST | That will do it! Another nail-bitter in the IPL and on this occasion, Delhi Capitals have stunned the table-toppers Gujarat Titans in their own backyard. It was a sensational last over from Ishant Sharma and the Capitals have defended a meager target of 131 to get back to winning ways. The David Warner-led side registers their 3rd victory of the season and they are well and truly alive in the playoff contention.

Chasing a scanty total of 131 on their home turf, Wriddhiman Saha and the Impact substitute Shubman Gill spearheaded the innings for the Titans. Khaleel Ahmed forged early troubles for the Titans by dismissing Saha for a duck in the last delivery of the opening over.

Skipper Hardik Pandya swatted three boundaries in the 3rd over but Anrich Nortje gave Gujarat another setback by clinching the massive wicket of Gill 6(7). Vijay Shankar, the next batter in, aimed to resurrect the innings alongside his skipper but a knuckle ball from experienced Ishant Sharma cleaned him up on 6(9).

The Titans only managed to accumulate 31 runs off the powerplay by losing three batters. Kuldeep Yadav was introduced straightaway after the powerplay and the leg spinner had an immediate impact in the game. Kuldeep removed David Miller for a duck as the southpaw was cleaned up attempting a needless ramp shot.

Abhinav Manohar then joined forces with Hardik and started the revival of the Titans. The duo batted deftly on a troubling surface and dragged the game to the deep. The Capitals were excellent to dry up the boundaries but they were unable to cease the rotation in the strike. The 62-run partnership between the duo was ended by Khaleel in the 18th over as Manohar 26(33) holed out in the deep.

The Titans required 33 off the last 12 deliveries when the ‘Iceman’ Rahul Tewatia swatted Anrich Nortje for three consecutive maximums and changed the entire complexion of the game. However, Ishant Sharma brought all of his experience into the play and saved 12 runs off the last over.

Earlier in the contest, after electing to bat first, the visitors were off to a horrid start as
Mohammed Shami got better off Philip Salt in the first delivery of the encounter. Skipper David Warner pulled through the opening over only to be involved in a mix-up in the following over and walk back early at 2(2).

The South African Rilee Rossouw, replacing Mitchell Marsh in this contest, swatted two consecutive boundaries to end the second over, but a gentle outswinger from Shami was too much for the southpaw. Rilee departed for 8(6) and left a fragile Delhi middle-order in all sorts of trouble. Shami was on a song inside the powerplay and his outswingers flustered the Capitals. Manish Pandey 1(4) and Priyam Garg 10(14) were the next batters to fall prey to Shami as the right-armer finished his stint with exceptional figures of 4/11.

The Capitals were tottering at 23/5 when Aman Khan and in-form Axar Patel got together in an attempt to rescue the Delhi innings. The left-right pair of Aman and Axar soaked up the pressure and started to move the scorecard by rotating the strike. The duo stitched a 50-run partnership for the 6th wicket before Mohit Sharma deceived Axar for 27(30).

Following Axar’s wicket, Aman stepped on the gas and added some crucial runs to the tally. Ripal Patel also played a good hand in aggregating a quick 53-run partnership between him and Aman. The right-hander Aman Khan registered his maiden IPL half-century, and just when he was cruising Delhi towards a competitive total, the magician Rashid Khan did what he’s best at and dismissed him for 51(44). Ripal Patel also orchestrated a crucial 23(13).

Mohit Sharma was outstanding with the slower deliveries at the backend and restricted Capitals to 130/8 in the first innings. Shami was the pick of the bowlers for the Titans and bagged a four-wicket haul. Mohit ended his stint with the figures of 2/33 and Rashid Khan also clinched a wicket in the penultimate over of the innings. Stick around for the post-match presentation!

19.6 I Sharma to R Khan
1 Ishant Sharma holds his nerves and wins the game for his side. Brilliant from Ishant as he defends 12 runs in the final over to help the Capitals win their third game of the competition. That's what experience does to you. A full toss outside off from Ishant outside off, Rashid swings hard at it and only manages to slice it over backward point fielder. Rossouw runs after it and keeps it to one with a slide. The Delhi Capitals beat the Gujarat Titans by five runs.
7 off 1 ball. A six takes us to a super over. Can Rashid hit a six?
19.5 I Sharma to R Khan
2 Brilliant piece of fielding from Rossouw. A slower delivery on the fuller side outside off, Rashid drives it crisply through the off side. It was heading to the fence but Rossouw at cover point dives to his right to get a hand to it. He keeps it to a couple of runs. Rossouw is disappointed with himself as he thinks he should have held the catch as it was hit uppishly by the Afghan spinner.
