That's it from Match 43 of the Indian Premier League 2023 which witnessed an important victory for RCB over LSG. We will be back tomorrow for Gujarat Giants vs Delhi Capitals live from Ahmedabad. Stick around to our network for all the other cricketing actions across the globe.

For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ninaad Dixit and Hitesh Peddurwar alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Faf du Plessis (RCB Captain and POTM): "Chinnaswamy and this are 2 complete opposites. I thought we played really well in the first 6 overs batting first. That's when you can play the same way you play at Chinnaswamy and you keep wanting to go that way and you lose 3 or 4 wickets in the powerplay. But to have a 50 partnership in the first 6 overs, I think it was a match changing partnership.

I think batting first here was important. It looked like spinner's hard work even Mahipal bowled an over and got the ball to hold a bit. It keeps the job easier as a captain. Chinnaswamy sometimes it feels like the ball is going everywhere and tactically just think on your feet and here you just bowl the ball in a good area and its pretty hard to score.

In my mind 135 was a really good score. We were going towards that and myself and DK were saying 135 would be a really good score but once you come in on the pitch it gets very hard to score so when we got that score and before we went on to the field, we said to the guys that we feel its a match winning score because the nature of the wicket is very tough and if we get 2 or 3 wickets in the powerplay especially with KL not being in the batting order, its gonna be hard for them.

I am super happy for Karn. He's just one of those guys who does all the hard work all the time. Doesn't always get the recognition. He's actually bowled really well for us this season but once again the nature of playing at Chinnaswamy, its tough for a leg spinner. Unbelievable from him tonight and then Hazlewood, its great to have him back in the side. He's experienced, nothing to the guys that's filled his shoes. But obviously someone like him brings so much calmness and composure to the bowling attack. So I think for him as well, he would have liked to start on this wicket rather than bowling at Chinnaswamy so its a nice way to ease him into the competition."

Time for the post-match presentation ceremony!!!
Things have got heated up between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli. They were having a banter aggressively.
Josh Hazlewood (RCB): "Its been a long layoff. I was more excited than nervous to get back. Bowling in the nets was a bit taxing day in day out so coming out here in front of good fans. The bowlers finished well at the end.

It looks like the wicket is quite slow so taking the pace off played a huge part for both teams. So in the end it was enough but few more would have been nice.

It was super loud for both teams and obviously few guys in our team are quite passionate which is great. It gets the crowd up and team up as well. Exciting out there."
Krunal Pandya (Lucknow Super Giants Interim Captain): "Yeah yes first up we did well in restricting them near to 125 runs. Really happy with the way we bowled today. At the start of the second innings 126, runs looked easy to chase but we didn't execute our plans. Yeah, KL looks in a bit of pain, he pulled his hip flexor, our medical team will assess him and hopefully, he gets well soon.."
11:38 PM IST: A fantastic bowling performance from the Royal Challengers Bangalore helps them notch up an important 18-run win over Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow as RCB climbs upto 5th in the points table. Lucknow were never really in the chase as they lost wickets in clumps at the start and it was always a catch up for them. They missed the injured KL Rahul due to a leg injury and the others failed as a unit.

Chasing a gettable 127 on a tough pitch, LSG never really got going as they lost wickets in clusters in the first seven overs as they were reduced to 38/5 inside 7 overs. Krunal Pandya got into double figures as he scored 14. Marcus Stoinis scored 13. Krishnappa Gowtham looked good for his 23 off 13 balls. Amit Mishra scored an unbeaten 19* off 29 balls. Naveen-ul-Haq scored 13 off 13 balls as LSG were eventually bowled out for 108 in 19.5 overs.

All the RCB bowlers bowled well. Karn Sharma was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/20 in 4 overs. Josh Hazlewood on his comeback match picked up a couple of wickets for 15 runs in 3 overs. A wicket apiece for Mohammed Siraj, Glenn Maxwell, and Wanindu Hasaranga. They all kept things tight and there were run outs in the innings to compound matters for LSG.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first on a difficult track, RCB got off to a steady start courtesy of their openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. The duo put on 62 runs for the first wicket. Virat scored 31 while Faf continued to play almost till the end as he anchored the innings for his 44 off 40 balls. Dinesh Karthik was the only other batter to get to double figures as he scored 16. The rest of the batting fell away in the end as RCB were restricted to 126/9 in 20 overs.

Naveen-ul-Haq was the pick of the bowlers at the death as he picked up 3 wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs. The spinners bowled really well. Ravi Bishnoi and Amit Mishra picked up a couple of wickets each with Bishnoi bowling 4 overs and Mishra 3 overs. Gowtham got the wicket while Krunal bowled a tidy spell as well. A good day for the bowlers as RCB won the game in the end.

RCB wins the game by 18 runs to climb upwards in the table. Things are getting tight here in the IPL. Stick around for the presentations.
