Another day, another last-over thriller in the Indian Premier League. In the end, it's Chennai Super Kings who emerge victorious, and that too by a slim eight runs margin. Stick around the space for much more cricketing action.

It's Arijit Kundu signing off alongside co-commentators AkshayaKrishna Polya, Ninaad Dixit, and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Good bye!! Tata!!
Devon Conway (Player of the Match): "Yeah, obviously happy with the way things went tonight. In the first few games, I didn't quite hit the straps. Happy with the way we ended tonight. Yeah, I think for me my things are simple. When I am under pressure I just play my shots. don't wanna be too predictable, just try to hit the bowlers off the length. Do not wish to take the risks. My second here playing for CSK has been phenomenal. The fans here are really special. It makes it better when you have MS Dhoni here and everyone's very loyal."
MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings Captain): "When you come to Bangalore you know it is a good wicket and in the early part of the IPL you get a lot of dew. You want to start well and then look to alter whatever is in your mind because I feel it was slightly tacky to start off in the first 3 overs. The fast bowlers get a little bit of help so it is important to go through that and look to accelerate and maybe look to get a par score. Because the moment you get a start innings for par+ and get around 160-165 then the game is done. We kept it simple. We said we'll try to get it as simple as possible in the second innings.

Shivam is someone who can hit cleanly. Fast bowlers, he has an issue with the fast bowlers but when it comes to the spinners he is a very clean hitter and he is a tall guy so he has a different reach as compared to the other guys so the spinners have to adjust their length according to him and we had certain plans for him but once he arrived for our camp, he was injured so we couldn't do a lot of work so we feel he is somebody who can deliver, who can get us those extra runs in the middle overs. The thing is that he needs to believe more than us. He has the talent but once you cross the rope and you are standing there you are on your own so you need to have that belief in you.

Well whenever you score 210-220 runs the batsmen need to keep on hitting. Its a matter of few overs in the middle but if Faf and Maxi would have continued, they would have won the game in the 18th over or maybe 18.5 overs but you need to be engrossed in the game. I keep assessing that from behind. Its easy for me because I'm so close to the game I can see if there is any deflection off the wicket for the spinners or fast bowlers so I am always involved in what needs to be done other than thinking about the result. If people bowl well and I can provide them with a good field and give them nice suggestions then its a win for me.

There's a lot of pressure on the youngsters when you're bowling the death overs. Also this time when there's a lot more dew on the field. Its not easy to execute the yorkers. But they are working really hard. We are looking at the process so you know you are supposed to bowl the last few overs for the franchise. What are you doing to make yourself more successful and that's what is needed. Bravo being over here, he is one of the specialists when it comes to the last few overs. Under him I feel the bowlers, they will gain the confidence. He will give them alternate options what could be done. Allover it is a team game and a slight change over here is that the bowling coach, the coach and few of the senior players they guide us on what is your strength."

444 runs in this match and this is the highest-ever aggregate score in an IPL match at Bengaluru.
Devon Conway is the player of the match.
Tushar Deshpande (Chennai Super Kings): "We all know when we come out here in Bengaluru that it is going to be a good pitch. Speaking about the ground, we all know it is very small but we have to embrace it. I just tried to bowl according to the dimensions and did well in the end.

One side was a bit bigger one than the other and hence bowled to the bigger boundary keeping the margin of error to that side. I just executed the plans and did well. MS Dhoni just said that we have planned everything already and now it is time to focus on executing it. We all did that perhaps and got the result in a tough game.

As a bowler, you get a good opportunity to make a comeback. You have three more overs to create an impact if you get hit in one over. I just try to stay in the moment and believe in myself."
Faf du Plessis (Royal Challengers Bangalore Captain): "Early on in the innings when we were fielding I was diving towards the ball and I just thought I winded my rib. So as the innings went on there was a little discomfort.

I tried to avoid that for a really long time but I had to do it towards the end. Sorry boys.

I think we played it perfectly. The last 5 overs were setup to finish. I would have put up a lot of my hopes on DK finishing that game that's bread and butter for him but that shows that there was some good bowling and some errors from us towards the end. As you could see it was a tough place for the bowlers to bowl today so I though we were in the match and lost 4 overs possibly to slip a little bit.

I said at the toss that 200 was probably gonna be par so I think it was 10 or 15 too many. We went for a few runs towards the short boundary there. The last 4 were set up to finish so unfortunately we couldn't from 7-9 to get some boundaries there.

Today it was just one of those wickets where you bowl first few balls and go today's gonna be a good wicket. Then you have to be on top of your game as a bowler and I saw if you are skillful enough and you know what you are doing. Siraj for us was unbelievable. Trying to shut down some boundaries. Yes you are gonna go for few. But I think its just the difference of not going for an over of 20+. Just try to minimize your big over for 16 or something like that.

Well tried. A good effort. We had a crack at it but unfortunately didn't manage to finish it off. So you take the lessons from that and then you move on.

I lost a little bit of power towards the end so got a little bit stiff on the side and then I was really disappointed I couldn't find that power so I would have liked to go a little bit harder in the middle period against the spinners. I tried but wasn't that easy for me."
Chennai Super Kings had posted a total of 226 runs on the back of three top-notch performers. Despite the early dismissal of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway (83 off 45) stayed around for a long time and built a partnership with Ajinkya Rahane (37 off 20). The duo glued 74 runs together, followed by an 80 runs partnership between Shivam Dube and Conway. It was a mix of three entities in the first innings - Conway's fancy strokes, Rahane's cricketing book, and Dube's monstrous sixes.

Right in the middle, Shivam Dube (52 off 27) was triggered by seeing his former franchise as usual. He went berserk and struck a few humongous sixes to change the momentum of the game.

With some late blisters from Ambati Rayudu, Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja CSK reached 226/6 at the end of 20 overs.
All the RCB blowers bagged a wicket each.
Arriving for the hefty chase, RCB found them in a spot of bother after the inexperienced pacers troubled the top order of the home side. Virat Kohli was removed right in the first over of the innings and it was the impact substitute, Akash Singh who disturbed the timber of the premium batter. Mahipal Lomror, who came out at no. 3 followed the former skipper to the dugout without scoring any runs.

Despite the pressure on the Bangalore-based franchise, two marquee batters counter-punched the men in yellow. Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell joined hands in destroying the bowlers and invited a flurry of boundaries at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Akash Singh, Matheesha Pathirana, and Mahesh Theekshana were torn apart by the invincible duo. Both batters notched up half-centuries but failed to stay till the deep. Right in the 13th over Theekshana got the better of Maxwell (76 off 36) while Faf (62 off 33) fell to Moeen Ali on the cusp of the next over. Earlier Theekshana had dropped two catches and a few others were sloppy in the field. Therefore Dhoni himself called for the catches in both the dismissals.

Shahbaz Ahmed could hit just one six off a pull and Dinesh Karthik who looked blistering during his stay of 28 off 14 fell to mastermind Dhoni's plans. The CSK skipper had pushed mid-wicket at the deep just ahead of the wicket delivery and trapped the RCB gloveman.

With 31 runs required from the last two overs, impact sub, Suyash Prabhudessai, and Wayne Parnell were found at either end of the crease. With some mistimed hits from the RCB batters, 19 runs were needed from the last over. Matheesha Pathirana operated in the ultimate over and snatched victory shadowing the aggressive intentions of big-hitter Suyash Prabhudessai. Tushar Deshpande scalped three wickets, Matheesha Pathirana was the next best who bagged two wickets.

11:14 PM IST | Another day at Chinnaswamy, and we get to witness another last-over-finish. Not the night the crowd desired but it's been pure amusement in the battle of two high-profile teams. 19 runs to defend in the last over was always going to be a little cherry on the top for a bowler of the caliber of Matheesha Pathirana. And the slingy action bowler transpires his local talent into a mix of international exposure.

A valiant fight from RCB but falls short by 9 runs in the end. Psychologically it's a big win for CSK and they are back to winning way, collecting two crucial points.
