That's it from another thrilling encounter in the Indian Premier League. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Arijit Kundu, AkshayaKrishna Polya and scorer Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Virat Kohli (Player of the Match): "A tricky one. When it went up in the air, I first of all made sure no one's close to me as I wanted space to judge the ball. It was difficult one and the other 2 were quite easy.

To be honest I was very disappointed that I got off to a full toss. I've been playing really well. After 50 I was targeting 30-35 runs in the next 10 balls. That's usually how I play and that would have helped us getting past 200. There was 1 thing I mentioned to the guys in the change room. 175 is enough on this pitch. It felt like it slowed down considerably when the spinners came on to bowl and even the balls to hit off the backfoot of Kuldeep specially were holding up. Unlike the other games that we played, maybe because we played in the day so I think we did well enough to get to 175 in the end and we had belief that its enough.

When I've played my best cricket, those are the balls that I've put away consistently. That helps me to put pressure on the bowler because if I can hit their best ball for four then obviously they will try to do something else and I back myself to hit good balls and the best bowlers in the opposition and that's how I motivate myself. I'm just happy to contribute for the team. Very very happy to get 2 points. I think we were deservingly in the game in the last 2 games before this and we kinda let it slip away quite significantly. To bounce back like this was very crucial and I'm just happy that I was able to contribute."

Faf du Plessis (Royal Challengers Bangalore Captain): "We needed that just to get the confidence back in the group. T20 cricket is a game of that especially the bowling unit. We were unfortunate to defend in a few games now. Its not always easy at Chinnaswamy. So very proud of the bowlers tonight.

It was the first day game of the season also with this new rule now with the extra batter you always want to have some more runs on the board. 175 at a day game normally feels like a good score. The way we bowled in the first 6 overs, not only today but in all the games. Siraj setting the tone beautifully.

First 6 overs are the most important with the bat. You wanna try and play positive, get ahead in the game almost. The way that they bowled was just unbelievable. Huge credit to our seamers in the first 6."

Vyshak Vijaykumar (Royal Challengers Bangalore): "I didn't know that (on being the record holder of Vyshak Vijaykumar's spell of 4-0-20-3 are the best figures for an Indian bowler playing for RCB on IPL debut). It was a nice feeling to be playing here. It's my first outing. I was looking for an opportunity for a long time and finally got a game. Yeah, Faf told me that the wicket has slightly on the slower side and it was holding up a bit. Hence I went for a change of paces. It rewarded me. I kept on bowling on hard lengths with some change of pace. Yeah, again that was Faf who came in and said to go for a slower one when Warner was going all guns blazing and it paid off for me. I was working on knuckleball for two years and now finally it has paid the dividend for me. I was a bit nervous at the start, but the management said to go out there and express myself. Yeah, I was bowling at the nets and helping out my teammates."
David Warner (Delhi Capitals Captain): "Yeah, look I said at the toss that we need to bat well. Our batting didn't get together and we failed to chase down a total that our bowlers did well to restrict them. See, once we lose three wickets inside the powerplay, you are always behind the game. Siraj with his tail up was bowling magnificently. See it should have been an easy task to chase that score in this ground but we failed to build partnerships and couldn't get the win. The positives are that our bowlers were on spot and they managed to restrict the opposition. We have a five days off from the game now, and will come with better intent. Yeah, we saw teams coming back from losing five games in a row to lift the trophy. So we will have that in mind and try to replicate the same."
7:10 PM IST: A powerful performance from the bowlers and handy contributions from the top order has propelled the Royal Challengers Bangalore get their second victory in the Indian Premier League defeating the Delhi Capitals by 23 runs.

Quick recap to the game as DC won the toss and elected to chase. Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli provided another good start to RCB adding 42 runs for the first wicket. Mitch Marsh removing Faf du Plessis inside the powerplay broke the stand.

Mahipal Lomror and Kohli then added 47 for the 2nd wicket with the former skipper getting another half century but he was dismissed by Lalit Yadav off a full toss as the spinners tied down the scoring rate. Mahipal Lomror got dismissed for 26 off 18 balls in the 13th over, handing the second wicket to Mitch Marsh.

DC picked up 3 wickets in 3 balls with Axar Patel getting his second in the 14th over followed by Kuldeep Yadav's first 2 balls in the next over fetching him 2 wickets in form of Glenn Maxwell (24) and Dinesh Karthik for a golden duck.

The left handed pair of Anuj Rawat and Shahbaz Ahmed kept the scoreboard ticking and helped RCB cross the 170 run mark providing some cushion to the bowlers. Kuldeep Yadav (2/23) and Mitchell Marsh (2/18) picked up a couple with Lalit Yadav and Axar taking one wicket apiece.

RCB followed the batting performance with a tremendous start in the powerplay getting 3 early wickets inside the first 3 overs. Prithvi Shaw opened the innings as the impact player and was run out the very second ball with Anuj Rawat hitting the bull's eye.

Mitchell Marsh was the second man to depart with Wayne Parnell striking in his first over. Siraj then bowled another beautiful over, the third of the chase and sent back the young Yash Dhull for just a single. DC also lost skipper David Warner inside the powerplay and lost half of their side for 53 runs with Abhishek Porel also departing soon.

Manish Pandey playing at his home turf played some beautiful strokes and helped himself to a 50 in 38 balls but was sent back by Wanindu Hasaranga in the 14th over. Axar Patel failed to carry his form and was out for 21 in 14 balls. Aman Khan played some good strokes in his 18 off 10 but failed to take DC closer who needed 36 in the final over. A feat that probably Rinku Singh could have achieved.

Vijaykumar Vyshak on his IPL debut registered the best figures for RCB with 3/20 in 4 overs and got good support from Mohammed Siraj (2/23) with Wayne Parnell, Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga making a comeback picking up a wicket each stopping the Capitals for 151/9 and defending the total with ease.
