Milestone
That's it from our coverage of match number 4 of the IPL. Ninaad DIxit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide, Akshaya Krishna and scorer Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Jos Buttler (Player of the Match): "Fantastic start for us. We had a really good season last year but it counts for nothing. We start fresh this year and its a great marker for us as the first game.

I plan a little bit but you react on the day and assess the conditions. Try and play accordingly, try and put the opposition under pressure. Really enjoying my batting at the moment and trying to keep a clear mind.

I'm just trying to keep a clear mind and try to react. Once you get a good start in the powerplay, not too wickets down, allows you to be quite aggressive and looking for the big shots."
Jos Buttler is the Player of the Match.
Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals Skipper): "I was wondering how we will start this season but happy to start with the win. Having batters like Buttler and Jaiswal, we can expect to score big in the powerplay. We definitely are a very good side. But you never know with this format and tournament. So we have to keep our heads down and keep working hard. We did a decent job to win this game. There are plenty of strengths but there should be weaknesses. You can't be 100% right all the time. We will find the weaknesses as we move ahead in the tournament."
Yuzvendra Chahal: "The way we got the start in batting. The way Jos and Yashasvi batted, we knew that it is a big score on this pitch and it will be hard to hit. I always back myself. I don't bother who's batting and all. My plan was to vary the pace and bowl stump to stump.

Its always my strength. I am not doing anything new. Sometimes I don't get wickets, sometimes I get hit, its the same thing. When I get a fifer or something, definitely a new celebration will come. Its just a first match, too early to celebrate."
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Sunrisers Hyderabad Skipper): "Just got to forget it and move forward. Last five to six overs we pulled things back with the ball. There was something in it for the bowlers but we didn’t bowl well upfront. They also batted really well. Captain is coming back and it will definitely be a good batting side. It was a pretty good track. The good thing is that we can get whatever we want and we quickly need to bounce back in our next game."
7:21 PM IST: The finalists of the previous season get off to the new season in style with a huge 72 run victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad defeating the Orange Army on their home turf in Hyderabad. Bhuvneshwar Kumar captained SRH in place of Aiden Markram who is absent on national duty and elected to bowl first.

Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal provided a magnificent start to the Royals adding 85 runs for the first wicket in the powerplay. Buttler scored a quickfire 54 in 22 balls with 3 sixes and 7 fours. Yashasvi also scored 54 in 37 deliveries and added another 54 runs for the 2nd wicket with skipper Sanju Samson who kick started his season with 55 in 32 balls which included 4 sixes and 3 fours.

Shimron Hetmyer finished the innings hitting 22 in 16 balls as the Sunrisers bowlers dragged the total down to 209 which was once looking going past 240. T Natarajan playing competitive cricket for the first time after October 2022, was the pick of the bowlers with 2/23 in 3 overs. Fazalhaq Farooqi also picked up a couple of wickets but was expensive. Adil Rashid on IPL debut bowled smartly albeit finished wicketless.

Rajasthan started their second innings with a double bang with Trent Boult starting the proceedings with a double wicket maiden to send Rahul Tripathi and Abhishek Sharma back in the very first over. Wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals with only Mayank Agarwal looking stubborn scoring 27 in 23 balls.

Harry Brook also playing for the first time in the IPL and in his 100th T20 fixture got off to a start but was well set by Yuzvendra Chahal getting him out for the 3rd time in T20 history. SRH introduced as their first ever impact player getting him in place of Farooqi with RR getting Navdeep Saini in place of Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Chahal was the pick of the RR bowlers with 4/17. Trent Boult bowled a terrific spell of 2/21 with a double wicket maiden at the beginning to guide RR to a strong defense. KM Asif (0/15 in 3), Jason Holder (1/16) and R Ashwin (1/27) also bowled economically.

Umran Malik batting at number 10 provided some entertainment to the crowd with some big lusty hits scoring 19 in just 8 balls and asking the team management for a promotion in the batting order but the target seemed too much for the Hyderabad batters who never looked in the element and were out of the reckoning in the middle overs itself.

Stay tuned for the post match presentations.

0 That is it for the evening! Short ball outside the off. Samad misses the pull to the keeper. RR win the game by a whopping 72 runs!
19.5 N Saini to A Samad
4 FOUR MORE! Good length ball on the stumps. Samad stays leg side of it and flicks it away using the pace of the bowler for four runs past short fine leg fielder to his left. This is good batting by the lower-order of SRH.
19.4 N Saini to A Samad
4 FOURRR!!!! Fuller-length delivery outside the off. Samad bends down on one knee and opens the bat's face as he slices it up and over point for another boundary. Saini is not at all impressing here.
Akshay: Umran Malik has certainly made a case for promotion in the batting order. It won't be a surprise if we see Malik bat ahead of Bhuvneshwar in their next game.
19.3 N Saini to U Malik
1 FREE HIT! Back of a length and outside the off. Malik loses his bottom hand of the bat as he flat bats it down to long-on for a single.
Ohh Dear!!! Saini has overstepped here. No ball called by the TV umpire and free hit to follow.
19.3 N Saini to U Malik
NB6 SIXXX!!!! Umran Malik smashes one into the crowds. His second six off the match. Short ball outside the off. Malik, on the back foot, clears his front leg and pulls it away. Never intended to keep it down and gets the desired six runs over mid-wicket. Hang on! No ball as well. Saini oversteps here.
19.2 N Saini to A Samad
1 Slower one, on a length and on the stumps. Samad mistimes a wild hoick down to long-on for a single.
19.1 N Saini to A Samad
6 SIXXXX!!!! Over the wicket. Back of a length angling into the batter. Samad picks it up and uses the pace of the bowler as he pulls it away over deep square leg for a six. Just makes the pace of Saini work to his advantage.
Navdeep Saini to bowl the last over of the match.
