Milestone
That's it from this thriller of a game that we brought to you with Delhi Capitals coming out on top yet again. Join us tomorrow to catch Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Giants in another WPL clash. Stick around for all other cricketing actions across the globe in our network. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Jess Jonassen (Player of the Match): "Well, that's nice. It got closer than what we liked. Happy to get the side home at the end. Kapp's super human dive and Capsey at the top helped us as well at the end. It helps as in Australia it's difficult to bat up the order. But in domestic, I am the finisher and nice to do it. The bowlers set it up and Capsey at the top. Happy with the two points. There were nervous moments for us. Schutt was bowling well. So, it was nervy and we got the boundary early in the over and got us the win again. A great game and happy to be in the winning side."
Player of the Match: Jess Jonassen
Meg Lanning (Delhi Capitals Women Skipper): "It was close in the end there. JJ and Kappie did an excellent job, keeping their composure and it was nice to get across the line. I would have loved to finish that earlier than that. But there was something for the bowlers there. The ball was spinning a bit and certainly Capsey's innings helped us get off to a flying start and the experience of JJ and Kapp helped us in the end. We executed really well with the ball. In the tournament we have seen if we hit the right areas, we will get the rewards. I try to stay calm despite the things happening around. That's T20 cricket. The girls have been doing very well. Shikha Pandey has gone under the radar a bit and she along with Kapp have been doing a fine job for us."
Powerful Striker of the Match: Ellyse Perry
Jemimah Rodrigues (Delhi Capitals Women): "I mean I said I wanted to finish but I was really disappointed with the way I got out. It is really hard for the batters to come in and play the strokes. Also the RCB spinners were bowling well. It is important for our team to get tested. It is good that we are getting these games in the league stages. Our team has been doing good fielding in the tournament. We need to forget what happened and look forward."
Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bangalore Women Skipper): I think it was a really good effort from our bowlers. But plenty to work for us. I think the partnership between Pez and Richa Ghosh got us back in the game. It helped us gain some momentum. We didn’t have the best of starts. First 14 overs really hurt us. 10-15 more runs would have surely helped us. I think its changing. The number of matches played at these venues, I feel the wickets are changing in the fag end of the tournament. Expecting the ball to turn in the upcoming games and change of pace will be crucial for the bowlers."
10:45 PM IST: Jess Jonassen hits the winning runs and finishes things off in style as Delhi Capitals Women holds their nerve in this thriller in Navi Mumbai to win by 6 wickets with 2 balls left. Another loss for RCB Women as they lose their 5th game in a row. They did well to compete with the ball, but lost out on the crucial moments of the match.

Chasing a gettable 151 to get another win, Delhi lost Shafali Verma to a golden duck. Skipper Meg Lanning struggled as she scored 15 off 18 balls. Alice Capsey came out all guns blazing and gave the impetus in the powerplay with her breath-taking 38 off 24 balls. Jemimah Rodrigues scored a crucial 32 off 28 balls after she got a reprieve earlier in the innings. Marizanne Kapp remained unbeaten on 32* off 32 balls. Jess Jonassen was with her and finished it off with an unbeaten 29* off 15 balls. The target was achieved in 19.4 overs.

Asha Sobhana was the pick of the bowlers for RCB Women with 2/27 in 4 overs. Megan Schutt bowled well as she gave away 24 runs in 4 overs which included a wicket. Preeti Bose got a wicket in her only over she bowled. They tried hard with the ball, but at crucial positions they lost the plot in the field and lost their fifth game in a row.

Earlier in the game, RCB lost Smriti Mandhana yet again early for a low score. Sophie Devine scored 21 off 19 balls. Ellyse Perry was the star as she held the innings together and top scored with 67* off 52 balls. Heather Knight struggled for her 11 off 12 balls. Richa Ghosh was the finisher for RCB with a quick fire 37 off 16 balls at the end. They recovered well to get to 150/4 but were 10-20 short on that surface.

Shikha Pandey was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/23 in 4 overs. She also took a spectacular catch as well not to forget. The other wicket fell to Tara Norris. It was a disciplined bowling performance from the Capitals bowlers.

So, Delhi are placed firmly in second place behind Mumbai Indians on net run rate while RCB are winless after 5 games and are rooted to the bottom of the points table. Their campaign is as good as over. Stick around for the presentation ceremony that comes your way soon.
19.4 Thakur to J Jonassen
4 Jess Jonassen finishes things in style for the Delhi Capitals Women. Experience matters. Lets out a big roar as soon as she hits it. Renuka bowls it full and right in the slot, Jonassen stands still and lifts it straight back over the bowler's head for a boundary. Mid off and mid on were inside the circle and it races away to the fence in a flash. RCB Women suffer another defeat in WPL 2023 as the Delhi Capitals Women win the game by six wickets.
Jess Jonassen has done it here. The six to level the scores with 3 balls left. Length ball and in the slot is a criminal offence at this stage.
19.3 Thakur to J Jonassen
6 SIXXX!!!! Jess Jonassen hits the killer blow here in Mumbai. Heartbreak for RCB fans here. Thakur bowls a cross-seam delivery on the shorter side, Jonassen hangs back and pulls it hard and just clears leaping Perry on the deep mid wicket boundary to hit a six. The Capitals now require just one run from three balls.
7 required from 4 now.
19.2 Thakur to M Kapp
1 Thakur switches to over the wicket against Kapp. Goes full on the stumps and Kapp hits it along the ground towards long on for a run.
19.1 Thakur to J Jonassen
1 Renuka from round the wicket bowls it fuller on the stumps and Jonassen mistimes the slog towards deep mid wicket for only a single. 8 from 5 now.
We go into the final over with Delhi Capitals requiring 9 runs off 6 balls. Jonassen will be on strike as Renuka Singh Thakur will bowl the final over.

18.5 S Patil to J Jonassen
1 Jonassen steps out of the crease and hits the flighted delivery towards long on for only a single.
A crucial boundary to release the pressure here. 10 needed off 8 balls.
