That also wraps us our coverage then. The rain has played the spoilsport eventually. But the action continues as the Eastern Cape takes on Super Giants shortly. For now, this is Megh Mandaliya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide, and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. See you soon!
08: 05 PM IST | The inevitable has happened. Rain has the final say at the Wanderers as the game has been called off. It was a disappointing end to this fixture as both Joburg Super Kings and Paarl Royals share points.

The Royals were asked to bat first. They got off to a blistering start, thanks to Jos Buttler and Jason Roy. Both put 50 between them in no time. Buttler fell on 23 but there was no stopping Roy as he continued playing strokes from the other end. Wihan Lubbe (12) and Dane Vilas (17) supported him but it was all about Roy’s masterclass at the top of the order.

Roy brought up his fifty and didn’t allow the Super Kings to get back in the contest. Roy fell on 61 in the 15th over. Rain arrived and it was pelting down at the Wanderers. The conditions didn’t improve and the umpires decided to call off the game.
08: 02 PM IST | We are afraid to bring you some bad news from the middle. The match has been called-off and the players and the officials are shaking hands in the middle.
07:49 PM IST: The cut-off time for a five-over second innings is 8.30 PM. The rain has eased off a bit but there is plenty of work to be done as there are a number of water puddles on the outfield.
07:04 PM IST: Nothing new to update. We will start losing overs soon. Let's hope we get some good news.
6:38 PM IST: The rain has returned here at the Wanderers and covers are being placed firmly. Seems like the rain has gotten heavier. We will be back with further updates.
Over to Megh till the end of this innings.

14.5 R Shepherd to J Roy
W In the air and taken. Shepherd has the last laugh. Bowls it way outside off, away from Roy's arc who goes through with the shot as he looks to hit it over covers but ends up getting it off the toe end of the bat. He skies it and Ferreira at covers settles under this high ball and takes a good catch with a reverse cup. End of a very good knock from Roy. He departs on 61 as Shepherd picks up his first wicket of the match.
14.4 R Shepherd to J Roy
4 FOUR!!!! Another leg cutter on the shorter side outside off, Roy picks it up early and slaps it over covers and the fielder in the deep has no chance of stopping this one.
14.4 R Shepherd to J Roy
WD Shepherd bowls a leg cutter but way outside the tramline in the off side and wide signaled by the umpire.
14.3 R Shepherd to J Roy
6 SIXXXX!!!! Take that, says Roy. Another slower delivery from Shepherd on the stumps, Roy stands still and smokes it over the square leg fence for a biggie. That made a cracking sound off the bat and it sails 89 m.
14.2 R Shepherd to J Roy
0 A slower delivery outside off, Roy looks to slog sweep it but toe ends it in the covers region. No run.
14.1 R Shepherd to D Miller
3 Back of a length delivery on the body, Miller tucks it behind square in the leg side and completes three runs.

0 Fuller on the stumps, Miller pushes it to the left of Ferreira who dives full length to stop it. Saves a run for his side.
