That brings us to the end of the coverage of this fantastic encounter between Bangladesh and Ireland. It was Ireland's day today as they sneaked away with a victory. Do join us for all the upcoming games from all around the globe. For now, it's me Hitesh Peddurwar signing off along with my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit, and scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi...Until then stay safe...
Shakib Al Hasan collects the trophy 🏆 and celebrates with his teammates🦁.
Paul Stirling (POTM and Ireland Captain): "This was set-up by our bowlers. My knock comes from what they did in the first innings. They set it up nicely and I think probably this award probably deserved by all the five bowlers that bowled.

Its full credit to them to comeback from what we've been through the last 2 weeks. To come and put on that sort of a performance I think, we are more impressed with the character than the actual skillset out there so congratulations to them.

I think we only improve the more we play. We've seen that here. Sometimes we were a little bit slow off the blocks and in comparison with Bangladesh, even in the ODI series they were right there bang on. I feel like we got better as it went on.

Its been a few years, everyone's quite excited. Good luck to the Test lads its gonna be a great experience playing in Dhaka."
Paul Stirling is the player of the match.
Taskin Ahmed(Player of the Series): " Yeah actually I was believing myself, doesn't matter whether the wicket was flat or not. I was just backing myself. Yeah. last few years we have been working very well as a group. In a few years, we will be one of the best fast bowlers groups.
The player of the series award goes to Taskin Ahmed!!!
The most valuable player of the match award goes to Mark Adair.
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh Captain): "I thought we didn't bat well. We kept on losing wickets. But the way we want to play our cricket. If we want to go with the same approach, some day it might not come up so today was a day it didn't came up.

I don't want to change our approach because if we want to become a very good team that's how we should play and that's exactly what we want to do. It will come up some games, some game we might fail but that's how it goes.

We'll be playing a Test match in few day's time so we'll be traveling back to Dhaka and see what we can do in the Test match. We played very well to be honest after the England series, we turned up with the same attitude and intensity. Today wasn't our day but credit should go to Ireland, the way they played. They kept coming at us and today was there day."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony!!!
16:24 IST| That's it!!!! Ireland dominated in all three departments and have chased down a total of 125 runs with 6 overs to spare!! This is the first time that Ireland has beaten the Asian team in T20I at their home!!!! Ireland have won this encounter by 7 wickets.

While chasing a paltry total of 125 runs, Ireland didn't get off to a good start as they lost their first wicket in the 3rd over. But the Irish skipper Paul Stirling had a different plan for Bangladesh today. He came with all guns blazing and was timing the ball beautifully. He glued a partnership of 24 runs with Lorcan Tucker.

Paul Stirling was in no mood to stop today, he was scoring runs at a brisk rate. He led his team from the front as he played a magnificent inning of 77 runs off 41 balls. Curtis Campher and Harry Tector played short cameos of 16* and 14* runs respectively and took their team over the line in 14 overs.

From a bowling point of view for Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam and debutant Rishad Hossain scalped a wicket each.

Earlier in the match, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first. It was just a good toss to lose for Ireland as Bangladesh got off to the worst possible start. Litton Das and Rony Talukdar opened the innings for Bangladesh. Litton Das was the first man to depart in the 2nd over and the wickets started falling in clusters for Bangladesh. Bangladesh were 5 down for 41 in just 6.3 overs.

Wickets were tumbling down for Bangladesh but Shamim Hossain held one end pretty well. Shamim was the only batter to cross the 15-run mark. He kept the run rate ticking and took his team to a total of 124 runs. Shamim was the top scorer for his team as he got to his maiden T20I fifty. He departed after scoring 51 runs off 42 balls.

From a bowling point of view, Ireland used 7 bowlers, and each bowler scalped at least one wicket. Mark Adair was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 3 wickets and gave away just 25 runs in his 4-over spell.

Ireland have lost the series by 2-1 but there are lots of positives for them to take from this series. They made an excellent comeback today after getting thrashed by Bangladesh in the first two T20Is.

Stay tuned with us as we will be back with the post-match presentation ceremony!!!
