Imad Wasim | Player of the Match | Karachi Kings Captain: "Yes we were on tonight, the way we started with the bat it was fantastic, it was a 150-160 wicket and to put up 186 was nice. We had to change something and give Wade a chance at the top and it worked for us. I think the wicket was welling up, and we though if we stuck around we could play well but luckily I got in a good shots, he played well too and our bowling was on point, it was a good outing. I thought the wicket stood the same, we tried to use the conditions, the hard length and variations in between, the conditions were tough but we made it through."

Shaheen Afridi (Lahore Qalandars Captain): "This is part of the game and it happens. We will learn from this. We wanted to chase to see how we do in our batting. They played better and won. This is a big tournament. We cannot think too much and dwell on this loss. Tahir Baig batted well and he is a huge prospect for Pakistan going forward. We will take the learnings and come back in the next game."
Akif Javed: "Yes, Thanks to Allah first. Yes, just tried to keep simple and believe in what I can do. That was my mantra. I hit the length balls and got my rewards. 11:05 PM IST: Karachi Kings finally take their first victory of the season! They beat a hapless Lahore Qalandars by a big margin of 67 runs!
Lahore Qalandars won the toss and elected to bowl first, the decision backfired as Karachi's opening duo of Matthew Wade and James Vince dominated the early exchanges to stitch together an opening stand of 70 runs inside the first 7 overs!
James Vince went onto top score with 46 runs off 36 balls, while late innings cameo from Imad Wasim ensured the Kings score reached the 185 run-mark! Karachi set a target of 186 runs for the Qalandars to chase.
Come the chase, the Lahore Qalandars got off to a flier as Fakhar Zaman and Tahir Baig went onto score 40 runs before the first wicket fell on the second delivery of the 4th over. Things died down a bit after that as regular wickets meant the Lahore Qalandars never found any real momentum in the chase.
Tahir Baig was the top scorer for them with 46 runs off 39 balls, while Akif Javed was the star with the ball with a crucial 4/28 from his 3.3 overs. He ran through the batters of Lahore to claim victory for his team.
