Milestone
That concludes the presentation and that also wraps up our coverage of the 4th PSL 2023 fixture between United and Kings. A comprehensive victory for Islamabad United and they have started their campaign on a high-flying note today. Joins us tomorrow as Multan takes on Peshawar. For now, this is Megh Mandaliya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee, and scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. Cheers!
Shadab Khan (Islamabad United Captain): "Yes, definitely wanted this game and wanted to utilize the depth of the batting. Yes, it's important to be agressive and it is data driven. We are all on the same page in our aim. I think it was the plan to give others a hit, so I held myself back to. They will get confidence from this match and move on from this match. Yes, lots to look forward to for us."
Colin Munro (Player of the match): "Yeah, it's always start to nice well and set the tone early on. Feels nice to get the win. I will do whatever the needs me to. We have options at the top order and guys like Hasan Nawaz batted beautifully there in the warm-up games. The team environment has been fantastic. We have a lot of positives to take on today. Not just the batters, the bowlers too did a good job today."
Imad Wasim (Karachi Kings Captain): "I think we scored really well on this wicket. We didn't bowl well. Did not execute the plans and hit the right length. Dew didn't really play a massive role. We bowl too full and that cost us the game Haider was really good at the start. Once we set the combination, we can comeback into the competition. I knew I was gonna comeback and bowl normal things."
Azam Khan: Yes, It’s was a great start for me. Was in the Bangladesh Premier League and tried to carry the form for my team. Yes, when you start middling the ball, you also start feeling nice about yourself. I have a different role in the United camp. Sometimes I play the floater and sometimes the finisher. The most percentage of our wins have occurred when we go after the opposition from the first over. Great start and it will give a boost to the new guys coming in.
11 PM IST: So, a win by Islamabad United by 4 wickets with 10 balls to spare to kickstart their campaign with a win. This is Karachi's second loss in a row and they will have loads of work to do in order to get the win in the upcoming games.

Chasing 174 for the win, United lost their openers early. Rassie van der Dussen played well for his 31 off 25 balls. But it was Colin Munro's 58 off 28 balls and Azam Khan's 44 off 28 balls that powered the chase and there was no looking back for Islamabad United. Faheem Ashraf's 12 and Tom Curran's 10* off 3 balls got the job done in 18.2 overs.

A couple of wickets for Mohammad Amir and Musa Khan while skipper of Kings Imad Wasim bowled well for his 1/19 in 4 overs. They tried their best, but were defending a slightly under par score.

Earlier in the game, after being put into bat first, Karachi Kings lost James Vince early. Sharjeel Khan played well for his 34 off 26 balls. Haider Ali was brilliant with his 59 off 45 balls as he held the innings together. Matthew Wade got 18. Shoaib Malik scored 18 off 10 balls. Niazi scored 19 off 11 balls while Fuller's unbeaten 12* off 5 balls took the score to 173/7 in 20 overs.

Rumman Raees was the pick of the bowlers for United having figures of 2/26 in 4 overs. A couple of wickets apiece for Mohammad Wasim Junior and Tom Curran. The other wicket went to Faheem Ashraf who bowled well for his 1/25 in 4 overs. Skipper Shadab Khan went the distance tonight as he went for 40 runs in 4 overs.

So, a win by Islamabad United by 4 wickets with 10 balls to spare to kickstart their campaign with a win. Stick around for the presentations.
18.2 S Malik to T Curran
6 SIXXX! What a massive hit to finish the game here. That has traveled a long way into the bleachers. Flights that one on the fuller length and in the middle, Curran gets his front leg out of the way and biffs that over cow corner region as the ball sails over for the fence with ease. Islamabad United have started their campaign on a positive note here.
18.1 S Malik to A Ali
1 Fuller in the middle, Ali clears his front leg and drills that down to long-off for a single.

17.6 M Amir to A Ali
1 Back of a length in the middle, Ali swivels and gently angles that to deep mid-wicket for a single to end the over. United required only 3 now.
17.5 M Amir to T Curran
1lb Good length and angling into the middle, Curran misses the flick and wears that on the pads as the ball rolls to off-side for a single off the leg byes. Amir is having a word with Curran and the skipper tells him to carry on with the over.
17.4 M Amir to T Curran
4 FOURR! Lucky boundary but Curran will take that. Short of a length on the middle with the pace being taken off again, Curran goes for a hoick across the line but top edges that one as the ball flies over the keeper's head for a boundary.
What a catch this is. Has he taken this? The umpires get together and decides it's a clean catch. Lovely catch.
17.3 M Amir to F Ashraf
W CAUGHT! Is that taken? What an exceptional effort and Ashraf is already walking off here. Back of a length delivery on the top of middle and leg, Ashraf swivels and goes for a hoick. The southpaw fails to get it past Niazi at mid-wicket, who dives to his right and grabs it with one hand. What a screamer from the youngster.
17.2 M Amir to F Ashraf
4 FOUR MORE! Just 9 required now and Ashraf is in a hurry here. Good length and outside off with the pace being taken off, Ashraf stays deep in the crease and guides that to the left to third man for a boundary.
17.1 M Amir to F Ashraf
4 FOURR! That was cracked by Ashraf. Short of a length and wide of off-stump, Ashraf hangs back and slashes that towards deep backward point for a boundary.
