For Rangpur, Sohan won toss and decided to elect field first. Comilla openers started off pretty strongly with Rizwan getting 24 off 21 before he got out. His partner Litton played elegantly to collect 47 off 33 balls; at one point it seemed him along with skipper Imrul Kayes taking this match away but both got out within 7 balls. In the end, Jaker Ali and Khushdil Shah finished strong. They both hit three sixes each with Khushdil scoring 40 off 20 at a hefty strike rate of 200. They finished on 177 runs. For Rangpur, their pick of the bowlers were Rakibul and Omarzai. With the likes of batters Rangpur have, the total looked little bit on par side. But Comilla had other plans.
From ball one, they were right on top. They got the openers in quick succession. Hard hitter Rony missed the bus today to win it for them. They played some shots here and there, but was always behind the game. Gurbaz came at 3, playing his only second BPL match. Except him, nobody looked in touch, he showed the fighting spirit against odds to survive till end but fell to Fizz. Rakibul and Omarzai played short cameo innings but wasn't enough for the victory. It was all smile in the camp of Comilla, as they not only ended Rangpur's 6 match winning streak but also ensure top-two finish with this clinical win over Riders.
