Milestone
That brings an end to our coverage for this game. This is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Wali Parvez and scorer Zeeshan Naiyer. Until next time, cheers and goodbye.
Nurul Hasan (Rangpur Riders Skipper): "The bowlers really bowled very well. Mahedi played well and it made us easy with the bat. Last three to four matches, we are playing well as a team and hopefully, we will continue in the same way in the upcoming games. We have four matches before the qualifier. So hopefully, we will carry forward the winning momentum."
Mahedi Hasan (Player of the Match): “It was very nice to get the first 50. It was good to build partnerships and I appreciate the support that I got from my senior partners. I wish to continue this momentum going forward. It’s the dot balls that created the pressure and that’s the reason why I bagged the wickets in the second innings.”
Player of the Match: Mahedi Hasan
Nasir Hossain (Dhaka Dominators Skipper): "We lost wickets inside the powerplay. I feel that it was a good batting track and 180 was possible but kept losing wickets and we fell 30 runs short. The lack of partnerships hurt us, especially from the top-order batters. Bowlers had a tough time as it was a good wicket to bat on and it was really difficult to defend this total."
04:26 PM IST | Akshay: That’s it. Mohammad Nawaz finishes things in style. A solid all-around effort from the Rangpur Riders sees them beat the Dhaka Dominators by five wickets. They grab their fifth win of the competition and have taken their points tally to 10. Dhaka Dominators, on the other hand, continue to struggle as they lose their seventh game of the tournament.

Chasing 145, the Riders lost Mohammad Naim on a duck in the second over. Rony Talukdar along with Mahedi Hasan started building a partnership for the second wicket. Both put 63 between them before Talukdar was dismissed on 29. The Riders lost a couple of wickets in the middle overs but there was no stopping Mahedi from the other end.

Mahedi kept playing his strokes freely and kept the required run rate under control. He brought up his fifty 31 balls and kept the Dominators at bay. With 22 required to win, Mahedi was trapped in front of the stumps on 72. Mohammad Nawaz made sure that there were no more hiccups in the chase as he remained unbeaten on 17 to guide his side across the line with six balls to spare. Salman Irshad picked up two wickets for the Riders but it wasn’t enough as they failed to defend the total.

Earlier in the day, the Rangpur Riders elected to bowl first. They had a very good start with the ball as they picked up three quick wickets and reduced the Dominators to 30/3 at the end of the powerplay. Usman Ghani along with Mohammad Mithun tried to resurrect the innings but the latter fell on 14 in the 12th over.

Skipper Nasir Hossain joined Ghani and both played some good shots and kept the scoreboard ticking. Ghani brought up a well-composed fifty. Hossain departed on 29 in the penultimate over but Ghani hit some lusty blows in the end as he remained unbeaten on 73 to power his side to 144 at the end of their 20 overs. Azmatullah Omarzai was the pick of the bowlers for the Riders as he finished with figures of 2/27. Stick around for the post-match presentation.

18.6 S Irshad to M Nawaz
6 SIX RUNS! It's all over! Length delivery, pitched at middle and leg, Nawaz is quick to pounce on this one as he smashes it over the deep mid-wicket region to get the maximum as the Riders have now won three games on the bounce!
18.5 S Irshad to M Nawaz
0 A half-tracker, bowls it a bit slow and keeps it outside off. Nawaz tries to hoik the ball but misses it completely.
18.4 S Irshad to A Omarzai
1 Bangs it in short at middle, Omarzai pulls it away towards the deep mid wicket region for a single.
18.3 S Irshad to A Omarzai
0 Another half-volley, kept it outside off, Omarzai times the ball crisply but it's straight to the fielder at cover.
18.2 S Irshad to A Omarzai
4 FOUR MORE! Full, slightly outside off and Omarzai times the ball through covers with utmost comfort and puts his side within touching distance of another win.
18.1 S Irshad to A Omarzai
4 FOUR RUNS! The Riders are edging closer! Irshad bowls it full and wide, Omarzai puts his front leg away and just scoops that over the point region for a boundary off the first ball of the over.
This is getting down to the wire. 14 required from the last 2 overs.

17.5 T Ahmed to M Nawaz
0 Well bowled! Taskin bowls a slower yorker that just dips at the right moment and Nawaz ends up blocking that back to the bowler.
17.4 T Ahmed to A Omarzai
1 Bowls a full-toss outside off and it's been driven towards sweeper cover for one.
17.3 T Ahmed to M Nawaz
1 Yorker-length, pitched at middle and that's been dug away towards the deep cover region for one.
