Shakib Al Hasan (Fortune Barishal Captain): "Iftikhar and I met when we were both having trouble. It wasn't ideal to lose four wickets in six overs. Iftikhar should be commended for his aggressive batting style since it paid off. He deserves all the praise. I allowed myself plenty of room to play the cut shot since I was anticipating the short ball (on the cut shot off Haris Rauf). Happily, things worked out. Particularly the local bowlers, our fast-bowling attack is particularly strong. We have several possibilities, and everyone is pitching in."
Iftikhar Ahmed(Player of the Match): "It was my dream to score a century in T-20. I acted because the circumstances were perfect. There is no ill will (about Rauf). I went after him because the pitch was designed for hitting."
Shoaib Malik(Rangpur Riders captain): "To understand where we made mistakes, it's crucial to recall this game. I'm not taking anything away from Iftikhar and Shakib—that drop (was expensive). The pitch was effective. Even after we had taken four wickets, I was anticipating a fierce attack from them. Due to poor execution, our bowlers lost against two players in good form. We don't want to experience anything of this nature happen to us once more. He appeared fine, as was to be expected of him (Shamim). His batting performance is excellent news for us."

The match between Fortune Barishal and Rangpur Riders was nothing short of a spectacle. Barishal, who were invited to bat first, put on a batting masterclass, posting a colossal 238 runs in just 20 overs. The innings were anchored by a scintillating 100* off 45 balls from Iftikhar Ahmed, who also scored his first century in T-20. He was well supported by Shakib Al Hasan, who remained unbeaten on 89*. It was a batting display that left the Riders in awe and with a herculean task to chase down the massive total.
The Riders' chase got off to a wobbly start as they lost wickets at regular intervals and were struggling at 38/3 in the powerplay. Mohammad Naim tried to steady the ship with a quickfire 31 runs off 18 balls, but his efforts were cut short when he ran himself out in the 11th over. The Riders faced another mini-collapse and were 6 down for 78 in the 11th over. Shamim Hossain entertained the crowd with some rapid innings, but it was too little too late for the Riders as they were restricted to 171 runs.
For the Fortune Barishal, Mehidy Hasan Miraz scalped three wickets, while Mohammad Wasim Jr and Kamrul Islam chipped in with a couple of wickets each. It was a clinical performance from the Barishal, who outplayed the Riders in every department of the game. The Barishal fans will no doubt be delighted with this commanding victory, and the Riders will look to bounce back in their next match.
