Shakib Al Hasan ( Fortune Barishal Captain): " Today, I believe we gave a better performance. In the 10th over, they were batting quite well, but we responded brilliantly in the second half, changing the momentum. We avoided assuming pointless risks right at the outset. It's crucial to create partnerships, which Miraz and Ibrahim achieved superbly. Nothing better than winning the toss and choosing to bowl first than getting a wicket on the first ball. This BPL will be challenging for the bowlers, in my opinion. There was never any question about Ibrahim's potential, and we have seen him perform well for Afghanistan. However, due to the combination, we did not play him in the first game. I'm glad for him."

Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Player of the Match): "Because with the excellent wicket, we fared pretty well. I made an effort to bowl in favorable spots. I enjoy always batting in the top order. I really adore batting."

Nurul Hasan (Rangpur Riders Skipper): "Shoaib Malik and Rony Talukdar played good innings for us but we fell short by 10 to 15 runs to set a good target. Yes, we gave away three to four quick wickets and if you give away three big wickets during the powerplay then it is very difficult to come back in the game. Wins and losses are part of the game, we hope, we will come back stronger in the next game.."

4:21 PM IST | Deepak: Iftikhar Ahmed💪 finishes the game with a six. Ibrahim Zadran💥 with his sensible inning of 52 runs off 41 balls has helped his side to register the first win of the season as they thumped🎯 the Rangpur Riders by 6 wickets with 4 balls to spare.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Rangpur Riders posted 158/7 in 20 overs. Shoaib Malik 💥was the top scorer for the Riders, as he amassed 54* runs off 36 balls and helped his side score a 158-run total from the critical situation. He was ably supported by Rony Talukdar,💪 who made a quick 40 runs off 28 balls. On the other side, Chaturanga de Silva scalped the wicket of Rony Talukdar to complete his 100th T-20 wicket on the occasion. Chaturanga de Silva and Mehidy Hasan Miraz shared a couple of wickets each for the Fortune Barishal.

In pursuit of a 158-run total, the Fortune Barishal got off to a rocky start as they lost Chaturanga de Silva in the very first over of the inning and their second opener, Anamul Haque, in the 4th over and were struggling at 18/2 in 3.1 overs.

Ibrahim Zadran and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took charge of batting in the middle and started scoring briskly. The pair were batting intelligently, but their progress was halted when Miraz fell just 7 runs short of his half-century, severing an 84-run third-wicket partnership. Ibrahim Zadran completed his fifty and was looking to accelerate but failed to clear the rope and was caught at long-on after scoring 52 runs off 41 balls.

Iftikhar Ahmed (25 off 18) and Karim Janat (21 off 14) remained unbeaten until the end, helping their team win by six wickets.

On the other side, Sikandar Raza scalped a couple of wickets, and Rakibul Hasan and Robiul Haque each contributed one wicket for the Rangpur Riders.
