Earlier, after being invited to bat first, the Khulna Tigers struggled to score against the strong bowling attack of the Dhaka Dominators and posted a paltry 113/8 in 20 overs. Yasir Ali was the top contributor for the Tigers, as he amassed 24 runs off 25 balls. On the other hand, Al-Amin Hossain💥 was the star bowler for the Dhaka Dominators, as he scalped 4 wickets and gave away 28 runs in 4 overs.
In pursuit of the Tigers’ paltry 113-run total, the Dhaka Dominators get off to a decent start, but a searing delivery from Paul van Meekeren hit Ahmed Shehzad’s arm, who was batting on 4 runs off 7 balls, and unfortunately, he has to walk out of the field due to the unbearable pain. Soumya Sarkar joined Dilshan Munaweera in the middle, and the pair started scoring briskly, but their progress was halted as Soumya Sarkar departed for 16 runs off 13 balls. He was soon followed by Dilshan Munaweera, who departed for 22 runs off 28 balls, and Mohammad Mithun, who departed for 8 runs off 14 balls.
Nasir Hossain remained unbeaten on 36 runs off 36 balls and sealed the game by 6 wickets with 5 balls to spare. On the flip side, Mohammad Saifuddin was the pick of the bowlers for the Tigers as he extracted a couple of wickets in 4 overs. Wahab Riaz and Meekeren contributed one wicket each.
Overall it was a dominant performance by the Dominators and will look to continue the same approach in the upcoming matches. Khulna Tigers need to regroup and come back stronger in the next match.
