Milestone
That's it for this game. Both teams will be back on Sunday for the second Test match. Join us for the next Test match on Sunday between the two teams. Stay tuned to our network for all other cricketing action across the globe. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of Deepak Prakash and scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Tagnarine Chanderpaul (Player of the Match): "Yes, it was a wonderful feeling and loved it out there. Yes, the preparatins were good and spent time in the middle to do well. I have learnt a lot from the captain and how to stay out there and has helped me to do well. Yes, of course I will cherish the record and go from strength to strength in the next game. Thank You and cheers."
Craig Ervine (Zimbabwe Captain): "It did look like going on forever. Definitely, the fight for the boys was amazing. The way we fought was amazing to see. Gary was good and Brandon as well. The guys applied themselves and we get a draw. The squad will stay the same for the second test match I feel"
Kraigg Brathwaite (West Indies Captain): "We missed one entire day. We made a great effort as a group. On the third day, Zimbabwe batted effectively. You have to respect Craig and the team for giving it their all. I thought we could bowl them out twice after we put runs on the board. Given how well Gary and the other hitters were performing, we were aware that it wouldn't be simple. The men fought skillfully, and it was a successful team effort. Although Zimbabwe batted admirably, wickets with the new ball would have been essential. They demonstrated some tenacity. It's good that the boys pulled together for us in this game. I am aware of Tagenarine Chanderpaul's fighting prowess and desire to spend a lot of time at the crease. To be honest, I believe this is only the beginning for him."
It's time for the post-match presentation.
9:15 PM IST: The umpires and the players shake hands as the first Test between Zimbabwe and West Indies ends in a draw. This was a fair result with time lost due to rain and despite the best efforts of West Indies, this match ends in a draw. The second Test will be a winner take all match starting from Sunday onwards.

Let's recap the Test match for all of you. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, West Indies amassed 447/6 declared on the back of a majestic 336-run stand between Skipper Kraigg Brathwaite and Tagenarine Chanderpaul. Brathwaite scored 182 while Chanderpaul remained unbeaten on 207*. Brandon Mavuta got a five-wicket haul to pull things back for Zimbabwe.

In reply, Zimbabwe replied with 379/9 declared with Innocent Kaia scoring 67 and Mavuta scoring 56 down the order. But it was Garry Ballance's unbeaten 137* that took the score to 379 with support from the lower order batters. Alzarri Joseph picked up 3 wickets while Gudakesh Motie and Jason Holder grabbed a couple of wickets apiece.

West Indies with a 68-run lead lost their openers after they got starts. 50s for Raymon Reifer and Jermaine Blackwood took the score to 203/5 in 60 overs. The lead was 271. 3 wickets went to Wellington Masakadza and a couple of wickets went to Brad Evans.

Chasing an improbable 272 in 49 overs, Zimbabwe lost wickets at regular intervals. Kaia got a start and so did Chibhabha, but nothing to ride home about. They got to 134/6 in 54 overs when the match was declared a draw. Gudakesh Motie was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets while Roston Chase picked up a couple of wickets. Too much to do as the match ended in a draw.

Stick around for the presentation.
