10:37 PM IST | Well that's all for today folks! Australia script history by winning the MasterCard ODI Series at India's home, in what turned out to be the first series defeat for India at home since March 2019 against Australia.

The men in Yellow climb up to No. 1 in ODI rankings and they will look to carry this good form into the upcoming Cricket World Cup! This is Anirudh Modi signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ayan Chatterjee and AkshayaKrishna Polya, along with scorers/analysts Zeeshan Naiyyer and Raju Khariya! See you on the next one!
Steve Smith collects the trophy on behalf of the Australian team! The celebrations begin.
Steve Smith | Australia Captain: "Thank You. It's been an enjoyable series. We have not played our best, but we have got over the line. We had to play according to the conditions. We were a few runs short. But our bowlers and fielders were magnificent. No big turning point. The way the tail stuck around the fielding was superb from all of us. That really helped us. The fielding and bowling really helped us a lot."
Mitchell Marsh: "Ahh... not too sure. It's just natural aggression. The wicket where I play in W.A.C.A, the aggression comes naturally. It has been a lot of fun. Might have got my teammate (Warner) with this performance. It's really glad to come to the party and perform. I am coming off an extended break and I was fresh coming into the series. I did work on a lot of things and I did execute those here. Hopefully, I can have fun in the IPL playing for DC."
Player of the Series: Mitchell Marsh
Ferocious Player of the Series: Mitchell Marsh
Adam Zampa: "Yes, I mean I have had success here. It's a challenge that I enjoy here. They are good players of spin bowling and I have to execute my skills here. I don't deserve to be here. The way Ashton Agar turned it around and the way the others bowled was great to see. So, credit to them for the way they bowled. We stuck to our processes and got the desired results. The belief in our camp was huge and that helped us a lot."
Player of the Match: Adam Zampa
Ferocious Player of the Match: Shubman Gill
Game Changer of the Match: Ashton Agar
Trusted Player of the Match: Virat Kohli
Rohit Sharma | India Captain: "It wasn't a high target, I feel we just didn't bat well. Partnerships are crucial to win games like these and we failed at that today. You have grown up playing on such wickets, you need to apply yourself. After the start, one batter should have gone onto bat deep and that did not happen as well. There are a lot of takeaways and a lot of positives too from the ODIs we have played this year. We need to analyze where we can improve, it's a collective failure. Credit to the Aussies, the spinners bowled really well and put on pressure along with the pacers."
10:23 PM IST | Time for post-match presentations...
Ashton Agar: "It was nice. Lovely to finish the series on a high. It tough place to be playing cricket and it was really hot. Not easy to beat India here. Happy with the win. I just put the balls in the good spot and left the pitch to do the rest. Mitch came up and said that anything around 250 is enough. Once we scored in excess of 250 we knew we were on the front foot. The pitch gone slower and slower as the match progressed. It turned as well. Rohit and Shubman started well but we came back nicely. It's always fun to bowl along with Adam Zampa. Thank you."
This is India's first series loss at home since March 2019. The previous team to beat them was Aaron Finch led Australia. With this win, Australia climbs upto Number 1 in the ODI rankings.
10:08 PM IST | AUSTRALIA WIN THE MASTERCARD ODI SERIES 2-1! They have overcome a long hot day here at Chepauk to defeat India by 21 runs and take the series victory! A gritty performance from the Men in Yellow in this tour and they have been finally rewarded.

Australia won the toss, and elected to bat first. The decision looked like a solid one as Travis Head and Mitch Marsh combined to put up a 68 run-stand for the first wicket. However, Hardik Pandya's introduction turned the tide in India's favour as he along with Kuldeep Yadav picked up quick wickets to leave Australia struggling at 138/5 after 28.1 overs.

With Marcus Stoinis and Alex Carey at the crease, Australia did not lose hope as the duo stitched together a 58 run-stand to stabilize the innings. Additionally, thanks to some late innings charge from Abbott and others ensured Australia crossed the 250 run-mark but they could not bat out the entire 50 overs as Indian managed to pick up the remaining wickets and restrict them to 269.

With the target set at 270, it was never going to be an easy chase. However, Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma came out looking in supreme touch. The Indian captain played a blistering cameo of 30 runs from 17 balls and notched up a 65 run opening stand with Gill.

Once Rohit got out, the chase followed a similar pattern to the first innings as the boundaries dried up and the batters started accumulating singles to keep the scoreboard ticking. King Kohli was the top-scorer for India for his valiant 54 runs off 72 balls. KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya all got starts but failed to hold up one end for India as Australia put the choke on.

The nightmare series continued for Suryakumar Yadav, the experiment to hold him back failed, as he got out for a third successive golden duck. Only this time Ashton Agar was the culprit. The left arm spinner picked up 2 wickets (Kohli and Surya) in 2 balls to provide a crucial breakthrough in a game that was increasingly getting away from Australia.

Adam Zampa finished the game with his best figures against India, picking up 4/45 from his 10 overs. Ashton Agar chipped in with 2 wickets while Sean Abbott got a solitary victim. In the end, the heat, the pressure, the run-rate and the slowness of the pitch was too much for Indian batters to contend with and they fell short by 21 runs to end the series on a disappointing note.

Australia, well the Kangaroos will be excited and celebrating long and hard into the night for a deserving series victory! This will provide a huge boost of confidence to them considering the upcoming Cricket World Cup is scheduled later this year in India!

Stay tuned for the post-match presentations...
Australia win the final match by 21 runs and collect the series 2-1.

W WICKET! A run out to end the contest here. Back of a length angling in, Kuldeep pulls it down to the mid-on fielder and sets off for an impossible single. Both players are at the same end and the run-out is achieved at the striker's end. Kuldeep is the last man to be run-out as India are bowled out for 248. Australia wins this game by 21 runs and wins the series 2-1.
