11:55 PM IST | Right then. We have our first finalists of the inaugural International League T20. A comfortable victory for Desert Vipers and they will play their final on 12th February. For the Giants, still have another chance in the competition as they face will face the winner of the Eliminator. For now, this is Tugral Azmi, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Srivathsa, and scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. Join us tomorrow as MI Emirates takes on the Dubai Capitals in the Eliminator. See you there!
Tom Curran (Player of the Match): "That is a significant victory. It was an odd game. We had good games. Was a score above average. Our top half performed admirably throughout the competition. When they are coming towards me, stop them from scoring. Big victory tonight"
Colin Munro (Desert Vipers Skipper): "Very satisfied. Quite a day of ups and downs. We had a wicket. Rutherford hit a lot of sixes. Happy with the boys. A few days are left for us to relax. We started our tournament with one of the later teams and finished our league games with one of the earlier teams. No runners were permitted. Despite a little stumble, he swung at the ball."
James Vince (Gulf Giants Skipper): "I don't believe the wicket played as accurately as we anticipated. There was a little more bounce. The pitch was above average for them. Due to the fact that we lost too many wickets during that time, Hasaranga's spell was crucial. We still have Friday night to try again. We'll be aware of who we're playing."
The Vipers are through to the final while the Giants have another chance in qualifier 2. Chasing 179 Vince and Lynn started well but the introduction of Wanindu Hasaranga proved to be the undoing of the Aussie as he missed a googly first ball.

Soon Vince went and the innings just went down from there. Shimron Hetmyer sparked hopes with three sixes in one Hasaranga over but after changing his bat holed out and that realistically was the end of his side's hopes.

It went down to the last ball but the result was never in doubt as Tom Curran starred with a four-fer using his many variations to great effect. Hasaranga though took the key wickets including two in one over of CdG and David Wiese.

Earlier after being invited to bat first, Vipers had a disastrous start, Mustafa was taking on the Giants bowlers inside the powerplay but was dismissed after playing a quick-fire knock-23. After that dismissal, Desert Vipers lost Hales for 3 and skipper Colin Munro for 2. They left their side in a precarious situation as the host were reeling at 33/3 in the 5.1 over.

But it was Caribbean batter Sherfane Rutherford who came out all guns blazing and started scoring at a rapid pace. He scored 37* runs off 19 balls with the help of humongous 4 sixes and forged a partnership of 52 runs with Tom Curran. Crucial contributions from Tom Curran (29 off 17), and Luke Wood (12 off 7), took the Vipers to 178/7 in 20 overs.

The Capitals bowled brilliantly and backed their captain’s decision to bowl first. Chris Jordan was the pick of the bowlers who scalped three wickets in his spell. David Wiese, Drakes, Carlos Brathwaite, and Afzal Khan picked up a wicket apiece.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentation...
