Milestone
That brings an end to our coverage for this game. This is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer Yogesh Kumar. Until next time, cheers and good night.
James Vince (Player of the Match, Gulf Giants Skipper): "It's nice to contribute to the team and to get 3 wins in 3 games is great. We have experienced these conditions and planned accordingly. We thought 140-150 was good, but big overs allowed us to get to 180. Shimron Hetmyer was great, he is a quality player and a great one to have with us. Great to have my family with us. It helps me a lot.

It's hard to single out the bowlers. All of them bowled well and bowled back of a length ball and it's one thing to talk about it and the other to execute it and we did that really well today. Tougher challenges lie ahead and hope to continue the winning momentum. We are happy with where we are at the present."
James Vince is the Player of the Match.
Rovman Powell (Dubai Capitals Skipper): " I think the decision to chase was the right decision. We didn't bat well and they scored 25-30 more runs. We pulled back things but we are not playing good cricket consistently. Have performed in patches and will have to assess the conditions quickly. The batters will have to spend some time in the middle. I still think we are playing good cricket and one bad game doesn't make us a bad team. We have to take positives from the past games and bounce back."
Chris Jordan: "Yes, obviously nice reward, but three wins from three games is great. That's the ultimate aim. I think we batted first and understood to bowl at 7-8m lengths and we executed it and our plans. The boys are executing the plans and are understanding their roles. Normally, it's about having rope awareness and side-on position and that's the aim for us to be successful. Enjoying my time here."
10:39 PM IST | Akshay: That’s the end of the game. The Dubai Capitals have been bundled out on 80 in 14.3 overs. The Gulf Giants win the game comprehensively by 101 runs and go to the top of the table. They carry forward the winning momentum and stay unbeaten in the competition.

Chasing 182, the Capitals got off to the worst possible start as they lost their in-form batter Robin Uthappa in the very first over. David Wiese struck twice in the fifth over as the Capitals were reeling at 38/3 at the end of the powerplay. Joe Root played some extravagant strokes before departing on 20. The Capitals kept tumbling as none of the batters adapted to the conditions.

Dasun Shanaka looked good for his 23 but fell while trying to clear the fence. There were no contributions from the lower-order batters as the Capitals got bundled out on 80 to lose the game by 101 runs. The Giants bowled brilliantly and didn’t allow the Capitals to get away. David Wiese and Chris Jordan picked up three wickets apiece. Richard Gleeson also chipped in with a couple of scalps as they completed a comprehensive win over the Capitals.

After being asked to bat first, the Giants got off to a very good start. They scored 48 for the loss of one wicket at the end of the powerplay. James Vince along with Chris Lynn put a solid 82-run stand for the second wicket. Vince played some wonderful strokes and brought up his third straight fifty. Lynn played the role of a second fiddle before departing on 25.

Vince was looking brilliant at one end and his knock helped them lay a platform to finish on a high. He departed on 76 while trying to up the ante. Shimron Hetmyer hit some lusty blows and remained unbeaten on 37 off 19 balls to power his side to 181 at the end of their 20 overs. Akif Raja and Isuru Udana picked up two wickets each for the Capitals but the latter was on the expensive side. Their batters failed to step up as they failed to chase down the total. Stick around for the post-match presentations.
14.3 C Jordan to R Akif
W WICKET! Full and straight with pace on the ball, Akif plays inside the line and the ball sneaks through to clatter the stumps. Jordan has finished things off in style as he gets the last two wickets in the over. Akif departs for a silver duck as the Capitals have been bowled out for 80 in 14.3 overs. A win by 101 runs for the Gulf Giants.
