So, that's it from this game. Do join us tomorrow for more IL T20 League action coming your way. Switch tabs and stick around to our network for more cricketing action across the globe. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash alongside scorer/analyst Chandan Kumar Singh. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Muhammad Waseem (Player of the Match): "Yes first of all thanks to all mighty and loved my performance. I loved it today and played my natural game. I am working hard to improve in all aspects and want to get better going forward."
Kieron Pollard(MI Emirates Captain): "Yeah, it was a good wicket and we were looking to bat first as well. The boys played really well. Waseem was brilliant at the top. We just need to be consistent as this is the beginning of the tournament and will look to go with a similar approach in the upcoming matches."
Moeen Ali (Sharjah Warriors Captain): "Yes I think so. It was the first game. Woakes was good and we didn't back him and the way Waseem played was great. We tried to limit the damage and we had only 3 seamers. We made a mistake. We showed a fight with the bat and ball and weren't good enough. I thought Gurbaz played well and so did Woakes as well. We have positives from this game and loads of areas to work on going forward."
It's time for the post-match presentation.
11:03 PM IST: A comfortable win for the MI Emirates as they outplayed their opponents in all facets of the game to win the game by 49 runs. Chris Woakes' cameo at the end reduced the margin of defeat for them. A win to start the campaign for Kieron Pollard and his men.

Chasing a mammoth target of 205 for the win, the Sharjah Warriors never got going as they lost wickets in clusters from the get-go. Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored a fighting 43 off 31 balls at the top of the order. Moeen Ali got 15, while Tom Kohler-Cadmore scored 10. Chris Woakes came and scored a breathtaking 62 off 29 balls at the end of the day to reduce the margin. So, Woakes had a good day with both the bat and the ball but his team didn't. The Warriors ended with 155/9 in 20 overs with 7 extras given by the fielding side.

Imran Tahir was the pick of the bowlers for MI Emirates as he picked up 3 wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs. Fazalhaq Farooqi supported him with a couple of wickets for 27 runs in 4 overs. Dwayne Bravo got a couple of wickets in his 2 overs. A wicket apiece for Trent Boult and Andre Fletcher. A disciplined bowling effort by MI Emirates.

Earlier in the game, MI Emirates lost Will Smeed early after being inserted into bat first. But it was the Muhammad Waseem show as he stole the show in Abu Dhabi. He scored a breathtaking 71 off 39 balls and took the MI Emirates to a strong total. Andre Fletcher chipped in with 22 off 20 balls. Nicholas Pooran looked good for his 49 off 30 balls. The dynamic duo of Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo finished things off in style. Pollard was unbeaten on 22* off 13 balls while Bravo was unbeaten on 21* off 10 balls. 17 extras conceded by the fielding side helped as the Emirates amassed 204/5 in 20 overs.

Chris Woakes was the pick of the bowlers for the Sharjah Warriors as he was head and shoulders above the rest of the bowlers. He finished with 2/23 in 4 overs. Junaid Siddiqui chipped in with a couple of wickets but he went for 42 runs in his 4 overs. The other wicket went to Mohammad Nabi who went for 50 runs in 4 overs. The rest of the bowlers were ineffective, to say the least.

So, a win by 49 runs for the MI Emirates to start their campaign on a victorious note. Stick around for the post-match presentation ceremony that comes your way soon.
