That's it from our coverage of the Challenger of the WBBL08, Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer Manish Bishnoi as we bit adios. Stay tuned for more cricket coverage from around the world.
Deandra Dottin: "It feels really great. Its been marvelous with this bunch. I've been feeling very comfortable and at home. The energy was really high. I just try to watch it very long. I keep my head still and once it comes in my arc I go for my strokes. After my injury its become very rough so after the injury I bowl off my shoulder. My game plan is to keep it simple. If I stay there longer, the runs will eventually come and I will catchup."
Bridget Patterson (Player of the Match): "No, haven't got our breath yet. Our bowling was outstanding throughout and nice to be contributing to getting to the final. Great to have the support. People cheered us and hope some of them make it to Sydney. It was tense, but Maddy was there at the other end and she did the job. Great to get over the line. Nice to make the finals two in a row. It will be a great game at North Sydney over the weekend. Still can't believe that we have made the finals. Need to get our breath back."
What a cracker of a finish in the WBBL08 Challenger here at the Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide. A tremendous knock from Bridget Patterson at the back end brings the Strikers back in the game as they go home with 2 balls remaining by six wickets!

Earlier this evening, the Brisbane Heat won the toss and decided to put up a score on the board and managed to score 154 losing 8 wickets in their share of 20 overs. Amelia Kerr top scored with 43 and got tremendous support from Laura Harris who played yet another attacking cameo scoring 33 off 14 deliveries.

Megan Schutt bowled a wonderful spell of 3/26 and was supported well by Deandra Dottin who picked 2 wickets in her final over to finish with 2/29. Jemma Barsby, Amanda-Jade Wellington and Darcie Brown picked up a wicket apiece.

In response, the Heat got an early wicket as Charli Knott sent back the opener Katie Mack in the 2nd over of the chase. Laura Wolvaardt batted brilliantly capitalising on the chances she got and finished with 47 off 45 deliveries holding the fort from one end. Deandra Dottin played her part with the bat as well scoring 39 off 21 deliveries.

Bridget Patterson played a wonderful attacking knock as the power surge was taken through till the penultimate over when she hit a six off the final ball to keep 9 runs for the final over which was bowled by Amelia Kerr.

After conceding just 2 singles on the first couple of balls. Madeline Penna managed to get one through covers for a boundary bringing the required rate to a run a ball! Another four through extra cover on the next delivery got the Strikers the win!

It was a combined effort from the Heat bowlers as Jess Jonassen, Charli Knott, Courtney Sippel and Amelia Kerr picked up a wicket apiece but the economy rates were concerning. Also there were lots of misfields and dropped catches which cost them the game.

As it stands, the Adelaide Strikers will clash with the Sydney Sixers in the grand finale of WBBL 08!
It's all over! Madeline Penna finishes it off with another boundary through extra cover!
19.4 A Kerr to M Penna
4 FOUR! Tosses up here, Penna comes down the track and drills it through the covers as the ball finds the gap as the ball races away to the cover fence. Penna who was struggling to time it finds her touch when it really matters and takes the Adelaide Strikers into the final of WBBL 08. The Strikers win this by 6 wickets with 2 balls to spare to reach their second consecutive final in WBBL.
Madeline Penna gets her first boundary at an important juncture in the game! 3 needed off 3 balls!!
19.3 A Kerr to M Penna
4 FOUR! Short and wide, Penna slashes and finds the gap square of the wicket as the ball goes behind point and races away to the third man fence. Penna has found her touch when it really matters here.
19.2 A Kerr to B Patterson
1 Short of a length here, Patterson comes down the track and drills it straight to the cover fielder. They will get only a single. She is off strike now.
19.1 A Kerr to M Penna

9 needed off the final over. We have a thriller on the cards! Good news for Brisbane Heat is that they have managed to keep Bridget Patterson at the non striker's end for the start of the final over. Madeline Penna hasn't got her eye in as yet.

Amelia Kerr will bowl the final over.
18.6 Sippel to B Patterson
6 SIX! Length ball and in the slot, Patterson picks it and deposits it over deep square leg as the ball sails into the stands for the maximum. She smokes this way back into the crowd. 9 runs will now be needed off the last over. We have a game on our hands here.
18.5 Sippel to M Penna
1 Short of a length here, Penna miscues the pull to the deep midwicket region for a single. Penna is currently overhitting the ball and finds no timing.
18.4 Sippel to B Patterson
1 Short of a length here, Patterson pulls it away to the short fine leg fielder and they will get only a single. 16 runs now needed off 8 balls.
18.3 Sippel to B Patterson
4 FOUR! Slower ball and in the slot, Patterson picks it and helps it on its way through the square leg region as the ball races away to the deep square leg fence.
18.2 Sippel to M Penna
1lb Length ball here, Penna looks to play it away and gets hit on the pads. They sneak in a leg bye here.
18.1 Sippel to M Penna
0 Back of a length slower ball outside off, Penna plays and misses to the keeper.
18.1 Sippel to M Penna
WD Sippel has been given this over. Fuller and wide outside off and is beyond the wide line and has to re-load that one. Wide is called!
