That's it from our coverage of this encounter of the SA20. Megh Mandaliya here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit and scorer Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more cricketing action.
Marco Jansen is the player of the match.
8:30 PM IST | In what was a rollercoaster of a match, Sunrisers Eastern Cape defeated MI Cape Town by 2 wickets in a last-over thriller. In pursuit of a challenging total of 172, the Sunrisers Eastern Cape openers were gifted some early runs before Jofra Archer ran out JJ Smuts 4(2) in his first over. Adam Rossington then came together with Sarel Erwee and the duo sewed up some alluring strokes. However, Archer soon struck again by dismissing Rossington for 11(10).

Following that, Kagiso Rabada trapped Erwee 19(14) in front and offered no respite to the Eastern Cape. Aiden Markram, the next man in, alongside Tristan Stubbs soaked up the pressure and stitched a partnership of 34 runs but it was not long enough before MI Cape Town attained another breakthrough. Rashid Khan on this occasion, cleaned up Markram for 12(14).

Stubbs flashed his pyrotechnic abilities for a brief period before Sam Curran dismissed him for 28(21). The Eastern Cape was down and under but Marco Jansen had other arrangements. The right-hander walloped 28 runs off Rashid Khan’s 16th over followed by another massive over. Jansen completely swung the pendulum back in the Sunrisers’ favor and bagged up 66(27), including 3 fours and 7 maximums at a strike rate of 244.4.

Eventually, Eastern Cape only required 4 from the last over and it proved to be a facile task for the visiting side. Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed 3 wickets by giving away 34 runs.

Earlier in the day, after being invited to bat first, the MI Cape Town registered 171/6 on the board. Eastern Cape started on a positive note as Sisanda Magala dismissed an in-form Dewald Brevis 6(8) early on in the innings. Ryan Rickelton then joined forces with Grant Roelofsen to desert Cape Town’s sinking ship.

The duo adjusted to the conditions and stitched a partnership of 102. Roelofsen brought up his fifty before Ottniel Baartman broke the partnership and attained two quick wickets. Roelofsen 56(36) was the first one to depart followed by his companion Rickelton, who was dismissed for 46(36).

Following that, MI Cape Town’s middle order collapsed as they lost three wickets in quick succession. Eventually, it was a quick 48-run partnership between Odean Smith 25(13) and Delano Potgieter 21(13) that cruised the home side past 170.
Another dot from Curran. Hold on, it was a NO-BALL of overstepping. What have you done Curran? The game is done and dusted here.
19.4 S Curran to S Magala
NB Fuller delivery on the leg stump, played straight to short midwicket. The fielder fumbles but the batters have made their minds to settle in the crease but its all over. TV umpire has called a front foot no ball! Dramatic end to a great T20 match as the Sunrisers get home by 2 wickets.
19.3 S Curran to S Magala
0 Short delivery angled across again and pitched on the middle stump, Magala doesn't offer any shot.
19.2 S Curran to R van
1 Low full toss on the middle stump, played with soft hands towards mid on for a single. Scores are level.
Just two required now.
19.1 S Curran to R van
2 Over the wicket. Back of length and across from the off stump. Punched through the off side. Deep cover is running to his left keeping it to a couple.

Rabada has again poised the game here. It is all happening here at the Newlands. 4 required from the last over.
18.6 K Rabada to M Jansen
W BOWLED HIM!! Absolute peach of a delivery! 115kph, slower one on good length, pitched on the off stump and jagged back a little bit in. Jansen gets deep in the crease, swings hard to clear the leg side but misses as the ball crashes into the off and middle stumps!
18.6 K Rabada to M Jansen
WD Good length slower delivery pitched way too outside the off stump. Umpire signals as wide. It was very close to the tramline.
18.5 K Rabada to M Jansen
0 Good length into the pitch outside off, driven straight to extra cover.
ANOTHER ONE! That will do it for the Eastern Cape. Just 5 required now.
18.4 K Rabada to M Jansen
6 SIX MORE!! That should be the final nail in the coffin! Low full toss around the off stump, Jansen gets down on a knee and just offers a full face of the bat to clear the long on fence!
MARCO JANSEN! You've got to be joking here. Just 11 required from 9 now.
