Johnson Charles: "To be quite honest, I was not hitting as much as I wanted. Karim and I had a great partnership and then Miller took the game away from us. I think the wicket was good but two-paced. The slower balls are working on this pitch and it showed today. I think the main thing for me is to keep improving and work on my shots to succeed here and glad we did that today. Happy to see the team through to the playoffs."

Odean Smith: "Yes, it was unfortunate. They outplayed us in the bowling department. Hats off to them. Hopefully, we beat them in the playoffs. In the last few games, the bowling was challenging and today we tried but they were too good and deserved the win. We will try to sleep in the downtime. It's a hard and fast-paced format. We always have to think on the field and out of the box even when we are not bowling. I think we are sad to lose but we are looking forward to the playoffs after a day's rest and sleeping tomorrow."
11:54 PM IST | Deepak: An easy win for the Samp Army as they crushed the Gladiators by 19 runs and qualified for the playoffs.
Earlier, after deciding to bat first in the first inning, the Samp Army scored 126 runs for the loss of two wickets in 10 overs. An electrifying inning from Johnson Charles (58 off 28 balls) and Killer Miller (35 off 13 balls) has helped Samp Army cross a 125-run total in 10 overs. Joshua Little and Odean Smith shared one wicket each for the Gladiators.
In response to 126 runs, the Deccan Gladiators didn’t get off to a good start as they lost skipper Pooran in the very first over. He departed after scoring 4 runs off 3 balls. He was quickly followed by Russell, the big man, who threw his wicket in poor communication and was run out after scoring 4 runs off 2 balls.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Odean Smith took charge of batting in the middle and started batting at a brisk pace. The pair added 53 runs for the fourth wicket as Odean Smith departed after scoring 27 runs off 12 balls. The Gladiators were able to score 107 runs for the loss of five wickets but fell short by 19 runs. Tom Kohler-Cadmore remained unbeaten till the and scored 41 runs off 26 balls but failed to seal the game for his side.
On the flip side, Cottrell scalped a couple of wickets giving away just 13 runs in 2 overs. Janat and Pretorious shared one wicket each for the Samp Army.
