Match Details
Earlier Bangla Tigers batted first in the match after they won the toss. They got off to a great start as openers Joe Clarke and Hazratullah Zazai looked to take on the bowlers from the very beginning. They set their team off to a flier and scored 64 runs in the first 5.3 overs before the partnership was broken.
After this, the Northern Warriors made a good comeback with some economic overs and consistent wickets. However, Evin Lewis brought the momentum back in his team’s favour as he picked up 23 runs off the last over. Lewis was the highest scorer for the Tigers scoring 38 runs off 15 deliveries. The Bangla Tigers put up a total of 117 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their 10 overs.
Coming out to chase down the total the Northern Warriors lost an early wicket in Adam Lyth. Soon, Kennar Lewis followed him and they were down to 2 for 29 in the 4th over. But the skipper Rovman Powell and Sherfane Rutherford changed the complexion of the game as they went all out after the bowlers.
It was Benny Howell who picked up Sherfane Rutherford and it looked like there was yet another twist left in the game. But Powell ensured that there were no further slip-ups for his team and got his team over the line. He scored 76 runs off 28 balls and remained unbeaten, while the Warriors chased down the target in 9.2 overs with 6 wickets left in hand.
