7:46 PM IST | So that's a wrap for the first game of the evening from the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Its time for everyone to switch the tabs to the second game which unfurls shortly at the same ground. Its time to sing off, Arijit Kundu this side, alongside co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. TA-Ta!!
Kieron Pollard (New York Strikers Captain): "Raina came in and out. He batted really well. He played one game for them before. Very very encouraging you know, you try to give them possible scenarios to get them the job done. The guys came in and showed us what they can do. We have a game tomorrow and we shall look for it. Ah, just relax, take the time as a holiday time. The World Cup football is up so the guys have their own teams so a lot of banters."
Eoin Morgan(Player of the match): " The wicket was a little slower and the plan was to settle down and take it deep. It's all about winning the game and grabbing those two points. I have thoroughly enjoyed this format it's such a spectacle in many ways. Thank You very much."
Man of the Match: Eoin Morgan
Power-hitter of the match: Odean Smith (38* runs of 19 balls)
Magic Moment of the match: Paul Stirling (for the catch of Suresh Raina)
Paul Stirling: "It's wonderful to cross that off (On batting the second team not winning the game) after noticing that over the past few days. I was not sure if I managed to hold on to that,(Suresh Raina's catch) but I want to break the momentum. I hope we can keep going on this run."
7:28 PM IST |  With 25 runs needed from the last 12 balls, it came down to 1 run needed from the last ball.🥶 The duo of Eoin Morgan and Azam Khan joined hand-in-hand 🤝 to take the New York Strikers past the finishing line safely. It did come down the wire but the experience of Eoin Morgan came into play as he stayed unbeaten on 43 off 24 balls.

Andre Fletcher had lit up the Sheikh Zayed Stadium right in the first over itself whacking a couple of big numbers. To his despair, the 'Spiceman' was removed right in the same over by Josh Little.

Paul Stirling continued with the momentum that Fletcher had set and went on to score 25 runs from 11 balls. At one stage they were 42-2 and then it was the pair of Azam Khan and Eoin Morgan who eased things off and chased it down in a calculative approach.

Morgan anchored the innings at the start and Azam Khan was taking on the bowlers. As things turned out, both of them found the boundaries and managed to take the Gladiators to triumph. Josh Little and Odean Smith bagged a solitary wicket each for the Strikers.

Earlier in the game, Deccan Gladiators had won the toss and opted to bat first. Jason Roy and TKC (Tom Kohler-Cadmore) opened the innings for them. Akeal Hosein struck in the first over itself, dismissing TKC. Matiuallah Khan joined Akeal Hosein to dismantle the top order of the Gladiators. Suresh Raina shepherded the innings till the cue end of the innings and tinkered around with the other players going for the big hits.

David Wiese smoked a few sixes off Jordan Thompson but the latter had the last laugh in the same over. Odean Smith tonked around the park smashing 38 runs from 18 balls with 3 sixes and as many fours.

Odean struck a six off the first ball in the last over of the innings but later on ate up plenty of dot balls and restricted singles to finish the scoreboard at 109-7 after 10 overs. Akeal Hosein and Jordan Thompson had the most scalps with two under their name.

9.6 J Little to A Khan
1 That's it!! The Strikers chased down 109 runs and thumped the Gladiators by 8 wickets. Fuller ball down the leg and Azam Khan drills it to the mid-wicket for a winning run. This is the first time this season that a batting second team chased down the total.
Arijit: Are we in for some miracle? Its a dot ball and one run needed from one ball now.
9.5 J Little to A Khan
0 DOT BALL!!! Fuller ball shaping away from the right-hander Azam Khan plays and misses.
9.4 J Little to E Morgan
1 Good length ball on the off and Morgan pulls it along the ground for a single. The scores are level now.
So, 2 runs needed from 3 balls now.
9.3 J Little to E Morgan
2 Fuller ball on the pads, Morgan flicks it to the fine leg and scampers for a couple of runs.
9.2 J Little to A Khan
1 Fuller ball a tad outside the off and Azam Khan gets the inside half of the bat on it and the ball past  the bowler. Single completed.
9.1 J Little to E Morgan
1 Fuller ball straight on the middle stump line and Morgan drills it to the long-on for a single.
6 runs needed from 6 balls and clearly it is in the court of the batting team.
