Match Details
Bangla Tigers won the toss and decided to field first. But they could not get off the desired start as Benny Howell struck twice in the third over of the innings and stunted their scoring rate. Shimron Hetmyer played a knock of 38 off 21 that helped the Samp Army reach a respectable total. Towards the later half of the innings, Karim Janat (22 off 14) and George Garton (14 off 4) played firefly cameos taking the team total to 100 for 5 in their 10 overs.
Hazratullah Zazai and Evin Lewis gave Bangla Tigers a brilliant start. They took on the opening bowlers of the Samp Army and brought the required rate down rapidly at the very beginning of the innings. It was Pretorius who dismissed Evin Lewis in the 4th over of the innings to bring things under a bit of control.
Zazai continued his knock after Lewis’s fall. But the bowlers of the Samp army were great with their line length and variations to bring down the scoring rate of the Bangla Tigers. The decreasing scoring rate put pressure on Zazai as Clarke was not able to get off the blocks at the other end.
Two quick wickets once again by Pretorius in the 8th over of the innings brought the momentum of the game totally in Samp Army’s favor. Colin Munro looked to bring his team back into the contest. They required to score 23 runs in the last over which was bowled by Karim Janat.
But Janat kept his composure and only conceded just 7 runs of the last 6 balls. Samp army won the match by 15 runs as the innings of Bangla Tigers ended at 85 for 3 in their 10 overs.
