That's it from the Lanka Premier League 2022. Another action-packed tournament comes to an end and the Jaffna Kings win their 3rd title in 3 years. Stay tuned to our network for all other cricketing action across the globe. Until next time, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of Tugral Azmi and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Good night and CHEERS!
Thisara Perera will now go and collect the coveted trophy from the signatories and will now go to his teammates for the celebrations to begin. They have won this three times in a row and the celebrations begin and will continue till the early hours of the morning and through tonight. The fireworks go off in Colombo in the culmination of this tournament.
Thisara Perera (Jaffna Kings Skipper): "There are no words to describe how delighted I am. We resemble a family more than a team. The key to our success is that. I advise my lads to treat their families as a unit. I must thank my owner because he granted me the authority to choose this team. I also like to thank the workers here. We've done very well, having won three in a row, so this year I was pretty sure we'd hoist the trophy."
The Jaffna Kings will now get the winning medal.
Angelo Mathews (Colombo Stars Skipper): "I think first of all congratulations To Jaffna. They outplayed us. Shout out to the boys and they tasked it out and demanding schedule. So, kudos to all. A bit of both. 164 was a good score and I think we had injuries and Sadeera and Avishka outplayed us. They deserved the win. Yes, amazing tournament. The Sri Lankans will benefit from here, especially the youngsters. Yes, always give my 100% and run around spreading energy. Thank You to the fans for their energy and support throughout the tournament."
The Colombo Stars will now get the runners-up medal.
Sadeera Samarawickrama (Player of the Tournament): "I'm very glad we won it a third time. I've been working a lot, and I'm happy to see the results. Gurbaz gave me his gloves, therefore I'd want to thank him. Just after the two games this season, I backed myself. I would like to achieve well for my country today whenever I have the chance."
Player of the Tournament goes to Sadeera Samarickwarama.
Carlos Brathwaite gets the Orange Cap for Most wickets in the tournament.
Avishka Fernando bags the Green Cap for Most Runs Scored in this series.
Innovative Player of the Tournament goes to Rahmanullah Gurbaz and he wins the award for the Maximum Sixes as well.
Emerging player of Lanka Premier League goes to Vijayakanth Viyaskanth
Avishka Fernando: "It was an important inning and happy to get the job done. Tough pitch to bat on, to be honest. I knew my role and did that to perfection. Coming back after an injury and playing so well fills me with immense gratitude and honor."
Player of the Match goes to Avishka Fernando.
The match officials led by the Match Referee are getting their mementos.
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony.
Shoaib Malik (Jaffna Kings): "Today's moment is outstanding for me and I would like to feel this moment completely. I have contributed fully to the team and would like to continue with the same franchise. The work for which the team had hired me, I have done that work very well.

Perera has had good captaincy throughout the season, his specialty is that he never panics no matter what the situation is in the game. Will always motivate his players and this is the reason why we will take home this trophy for the third time."
Vijayakanth Viyaskanth (Jaffna Kings): "I can't believe I scored the winning run and for the third time we are taking home the trophy."
Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Jaffna Kings): "It is an exciting moment for me, I will not be able to describe in words how happy I am. Avishka batted very well, got us so close to the target, and the rest was done by our tailenders."
11:15 PM IST: What a terrific final we have had here in Colombo as Jaffna Kings win the match by 2 wickets and win the title for the third straight year. Congratulations to them and hard luck to the Colombo Stars. They have played their hearts out in this game.

Avishka Fernando held the innings throughout and scored 50 off 43 balls. Sadeera Samawickrama was the best batter as he took the game away with his 44 off 27 balls.
