Thisara Perera (Jaffna Kings Skipper): "First of all, we have tried 20 players in the first round matches. So we should have a look at who to play in the playoffs. There is a selection headache to select the best XI. The next match is just another match and not feeling much pressure about it."
Niroshan Dickwella (Colombo Stars Skipper): "When we batted first, we didn't click. While chasing, we did well in Pallekele and here as well. Everyone has to raise their hands up and contribute to the team. We haven't realized what a good score is batting first. Anything close to 150 would have been a good total on this surface. Only Seeku is having a niggle. We have a good batting line up and will definitely come out good in the playoffs."
Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Player of the Match): "I didn't have a complete sleep. Whenever I'm on the ground, I always try to stay energetic. The wicket wasn't easy to bat on but I tried to stay positive and back myself. I try to be more consistent and always try to be positive."

Colombo Stars scored 128 runs for the cost of nine wickets in 20 overs earlier after being invited to bat first by the opposition. The Stars leading scorer, Drakes, amassed 38 runs off just 20 balls. Nishan and Bopara shared a 37-run partnership for the fifth wicket to handle the team's sinking innings but returned to the pavilion on scores of 35 and 20. Drakes played an entertaining innings in the death overs to take the team to 128. For the Jaffna Kings, Thisara Perera and Shoaib Malik each claimed a couple of wickets. Zaman, Asitha, Praveen, and Suminda bagged a wicket each.
In response to 128 runs, the Jaffna Kings got off to a solid start as their openers Gurbaz Rahmanullah and Avishka Fernando forged a partnership of 105 runs for the first wicket. Gurbaz departed after scoring 69 off 40 balls. Fernando and Sadeera remained unbeaten till the end and scored 40* off 38 and 9* off 9 respectively to seal the game by 8 wickets for their team.
