Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka Captain): "I'm really happy with mine and the team's performances. We finally won and we hope we can continue this into the ODI series. Our bowling did a really good job this tournament and they have been good the past couple of months.
We have a good head coach and a good support staff, we execute our plans very well and we always talk positive in the dressing room.
Sri Lanka Cricket has done a lot for the girls, they increased our pay and gave us contracts to about 60 players. I think we'll be a really good team in the future."

Heather Knight (England Captain): "I think credit to Sri Lanka, they played brilliantly in the last few games. That's the case, we learned from them. But we played with a younger side but thats no excuse. Yeah, we have not played to our best and have been punished by Sri Lanka.
Obviously, batters did not get starts and did not have the mentality to go on. You want players to go on and score big runs. We have to play better against spin. Sri Lankan spinners bowled well and had the better of us.

Carrying responsibility for the team and the kind of backing Heather and others have for me makes me more confident. I'm working on becoming a permanent all-rounder for the team, and hopefully I can do that. It's about contributing to the team whenever the opportunity comes."

In pursuit of the chase of a tricky total, skipper Chamari Athapaththu and Anushka Sanjeewani gave a flying start to the visitors. The skipper took on anybody and everybody, making full use of the powerplay. She was well supported by the wicketkeeper batter who scored 20 runs off 16 balls.
After notching up 58 runs inside the powerplay, Athapaththu (44 off 28) was outwitted by the introduction of Alice Capsey. Her partner followed her in quick time as Sarah Glenn got the better. With one more wicket gone, it was Harshitha Madhavi who anchored the innings and played sensibly along with Hansini Perera. Earlier, England were cleaned up for 116 and the decider kicked off with the wicket of Danny Wyatt. Three wickets were lost inside the powerplay and wickets fell like nine pins for England. Due to the late contributions from Amy Jones (20), Danielle Gibson (21), and Sarah Glenn (16), England got something to fight for and ended at 116 with an over to spare.
The skipper, Chamari Athapaththu was the pick of the bowlers with a three-fer, followed by a couple of wickets from Kavisha Dilhari and Udeshika Prabodhani.
