So, that's it from this game which turned out to be a thriller with England coming out on top. Both teams will be back in action on Sunday for the second of three ODIS at Southampton. Do join us for that game and for all other cricketing actions across the globe, stick around to our network. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash alongside scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and Take care!
Heather Knight (England Women Captain and Player of the Match): "It feels very good. Hard work out there. Crowd support was great and Kate Cross played the blinder out there. We could be better but this win is due to the character that we are made of. Yes, it was emotional and we kept it in check. We lost lots of wickets at intervals and had to hold our nerves.

I told her to keep going and play the ramp shot. Happy for Kate that she played a stellar role to win it for us. I think there are areas to improve. Not the best day in the field and keen on improving in areas.

Happy to win despite being not being at our best. Yes, the games have been close and there have been nail biters and so we are enjoying it. This is an amazing series to be a part of. We have a long way to go and how we kept calm in the big moments.

The support from the crowd has been amazing. Hopefully, that support stays with us in the coming games. What a performance from us and hope to do well in the last two ODIS with Ashes on the line."
Alyssa Healy (Australia Women Captain): "We fought really well till the end but we were 20 runs short with the bat. Our spinners did an outstanding job. (About pitch) Everyone who came off said they couldn't quite get into the swing of things. The change of pace into the wicket and the spin came into it at the back end. We will see it as an opportunity to learn and grow. The Ashes is on the line now, we simply need to improve and excel in specific aspects, and that's precisely what we will strive to uncover in the upcoming days."
12:13 AM IST, 7:43 PM Local Time: So, we have seen a thriller here at Bristol and at the end of it all, it is skipper Heather Knight who has led from the front to win it for England with 11 balls to spare as England wins by 2 wickets. The Ashes is still alive. They take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series and the score in the multi-format series is 6-6 with 2 games to go and 4 points up for grabs.

Chasing a competitive target of 264 for the win, England lost Sophia Dunkley early. Tammy Beaumont played well for her 47 off 42 balls while Alice Capsey looked good for her 40 off 34 balls. But it was the skipper Heather Knight who led from the front with her unbeaten 75* off 86 balls that helped England win the game. Nat Sciver-Brunt scored 31 and Danielle Wyatt scored 14. Kate Cross played a blinder in the end scoring 19* off 20 balls and guiding her side home alongside the skipper. 23 extras were given by the Aussies.

The Australian bowlers bowled well with Ashleigh Gardner being the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/42 in 10 overs. A couple of wickets for Georgia Wareham who supported Gardner well. A wicket apiece for Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, and Jess Jonassen. But they couldn't defend the score.

Earlier in the day, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first and lost their skipper Alyssa Healy in the first over. The young Phoebe Litchfield scored a good looking 34 off 36 balls. Ellyse Perry chipped in with 41 off 51 balls. But it was Beth Mooney who held the innings together and remained unbeaten on 81* off 99 balls and held the innings together. Tahlia McGrath scored 24, Ashleigh Gardner scored 21 off 24 balls. Jess Jonassen scored 30 off 39 balls while Georgia Wareham scored 12 off 6 balls as Australia ended with 263/8 in 50 overs. Just 9 extras were given by the England cricket team.

The wickets were shared around by the English bowlers. A couple of wickets apiece for Lauren Bell and Nat Sciver-Brunt. A wicket apiece for Kate Cross, Sophie Ecclestone, Sarah Glenn, and Alice Capsey. It was a thriller and England came out on top in the end.

So, England win by 2 wickets with 11 balls to spare to level the multi-format series score to 6-6 with 2 ODIS left. Stick around for the presentation ceremony that comes your way soon.
