Milestone
That's it from this game and the Women's Asia Cup 2022. We hope that you have enjoyed our coverage as much as we had in bringing it to you. Loads of cricketing action happening in our network across the globe. Till next time, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Akshaya Krishna Polya, alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
Harmanpreet Kaur goes across and collects the beautiful trophy. And now, she will take the trophy to her teammates and the celebrations go off as the trophy is lifted up. They are the champions and rightly so. They entered as the favorites and have been head and shoulders above the other teams in the competition.
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain): "Yes, definitely. I think we should give credit to our bowlers for the way they bowled. And also not to forget our fielders, who did well to keep the batters under pressure by helping the bowlers. We read the wicket really well and set the field according to it. Yes, that's what we thought. We weren't looking at the scorecard. We were targeting every five overs. We were looking to work in sets. And once we won each and every set, I knew that we were in front."
Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka Women Captain): "Yes, it's a tough day as a team. Not a good batting display as a team. I am really upset. The plus points are the tough situations that we came through. The batting has to improve and bowling is fine. There are a couple of youngsters and hope they do well and play in the future and do well. The T20 World Cup is next year and I hope we take the positives and come out stronger. Thank You."
Deepti Sharma: "Yeah, I am happy with how we played as a unit. We have been performing exceedingly well. We need to focus on small points. We bowled well. We have been working hard as a team. I have been working hard in practise. Overall, have been working hard."
Deepti Sharma is the Player of the Tournament.
Renuka Singh Thakur: "Yes definitely I am very happy. In the last few games, I didn't bowl well. I practiced with my coach and staff and got better. I didn't try anything, just stick to the basics and got rewards. The whole team supported me a lot and I am happy to get the results. Thank You."
Renuka Singh Thakur is the Player of the Match.
We are here with the presentations!
We have had a one-sided final as India Women have dominated the Sri Lanka Women by 8 wickets with 11.3 overs to spare to lift their 7th Asia Cup crown. They have outplayed the Lankans in all facets of the game and they can start the celebrations now.

Chasing an easy target of 66 runs for the victory, India did lose Shafali Verma (5), and Jemimah Rodrigues (2). But it was Smriti Mandhana who was in the mood as she got to her 18th T20I fifty. She remained unbeaten on 51* off 25 balls. Harmanpreet Kaur was there with her unbeaten on 11* off 14 balls as the target was achieved in 8.3 overs.

From Sri Lanka's bowling point of view, there was nothing to defend and so they tried as much as they could. A wicket for Inoka Ranaweera, and Kavisha Dilhari but no more joy after that as India had too much class today for the Lankans.

Earlier in the game, Sri Lanka Women skipper Chamari Athapaththu won the toss and decided to bat first on a used pitch. That was the only thing they won today as what followed was total chaos. Chamari’s run-out triggered a spectacular collapse as Sri Lanka were losing wickets like nine pins. They were 16/5 after the powerplay and 32/8 at one stage. It was Oshadi Ranasinghe's 13 off 20 balls and Inoka Ranaweera’s unbeaten 18* off 22 balls that helped Sri Lanka bat out their 20 overs. Ranaweera’s two consecutive boundaries took the score to 65/9 as India Women gave away only six extras.

An excellent bowling performance by the Indian bowlers led by Renuka Singh Thakur who finished with 3/5 in 3 overs. A couple of wickets apiece for Rajeshwari Gayakwad, and Sneh Rana as they also kept things tight. Deepti Sharma was phenomenal as she gave away just 7 runs in her 4 overs. The others kept things tight and never allowed the Lankans to get away as half the job was done in the first innings.

So, India Women wins the contest by 8 wickets with plenty to spare to win their 7th Asia Cup. Sri Lanka Women, unfortunately, never turned up. Stick around for the post-match presentation ceremony that comes your way soon.

Smriti Mandhana finishes things off in style as she gets to her 18th T20I fifty as India wins their seventh Asia Cup crown.
8.3 O Ranasinghe to S Mandhana
6 SIXXX!!! Mandhana finishes it off in style as she wins it for India. At the same time, she gets to her 18th T20I fifty. Fuller length on the off-stump. Mandhana sits down on one knee, and slog sweeps it. It goes high and handsome well over the deep mid-wicket fence for a match-winning biggie.
SCORES ARE LEVEL NOW! Just a run needed now for India for their 7th Asia Cup crown.
8.2 O Ranasinghe to S Mandhana
4 FOURRR!! Around the wicket. Fuller length on the off-stump. Mandhana comes down the track and goes up and over mid-on. Gets it to the right of the fielder and finds the boundary. Scores are level!
