7:30 AM IST: Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the 20th Women’s Asia Cup coming to you from Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet, Bangladesh. My name is Deepak Prakash, and shortly my co-commentator Akshay Bhide and our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer will join me. Together, we will walk you through the live ball-by-ball analysis of the match between the Bangladesh Women and the United Arab Emirates Women.
We have found three semifinalists in the ongoing Women's Asia Cup. India Women, Pakistan Women, and Sri Lanka Women are the three teams to make their way into the next round. So, this game between Bangladesh Women and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Women is a virtual quarter-final for the former. This will mark the 20th match of the tournament and will take place at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

Currently, the hosts are in fifth place, with four points from five matches, winning two and losing three. However, a win here for Bangladesh will take them into the semis as they have a better net run rate than Thailand Women, who are in fourth place but have finished all their round-robin games.

The Nigar Sultana-led side have lost to Pakistan, India, and Sri Lanka, which was expected. But as a defending champion, one needs to perform better while chasing a target of 41 in seven overs. So it happened in their recent fixture against Sri Lanka, the team faltered in the reduced chase to fall short by three runs (DLS method) and made a mess of the opportunity to be the semifinalists. But the water hasn't gone above the head, and they need to do the simple work of winning against UAE in their final league encounter.

There is not much to ponder about UAE women. They are in the sixth position with one win from five matches and are out of the competition. The Chaya Mughal-led unit managed to give a tough fight to the Lankans in their first game, but they surrendered to India, Thailand, and Pakistan while sneaking past Malaysia in between.

Can Bangladesh make it to the next round, or will UAE sping in a surprise to spoil the party of the hosts?

Join us at 7:30 AM IST for the live coverage of this enthralling encounter to know the answers!
