That’s it from Game 11 in the Women’s Asia Cup between Bangladesh Women and Malaysia Women. This is Tugral Azmi signing off alongside Deepak Prakash and our scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar.

Stay tuned for more exciting fixtures across the globe, until then take care, and goodbye from us...!
Nigar Sultana(Skipper Bangladesh Women & player of the match):" Here, we intended to play constructive cricket. Because of the sluggish wicket, we made adjustments. We only wanted to record a victory. Murshida performed admirably, and our bowlers were outstanding as well. We got off to a sluggish start, but I assured Murshida that we could finish well if we played until the 19th over.

The hat trick was fantastic. We trusted Trisna because she is a highly astute bowler. I awaited the final five overs because I was confident that if I persisted, 130 would be feasible. We wanted to get them out as quickly as we could after going into the bowl."
Winifred Duraisingam(Skipper Malaysia Women): " We had a strong bowling start. However, Bangladesh was the more knowledgeable squad in the end and knew what they had to accomplish. The girls are going through a learning curve and we wish they could go back and apply what they have learned. Mahirah has been playing well and Sasha has been bowling well throughout the competition."
4.00 PM IST| A defending champion shows a clinical performance as they wrapped up Malaysia Women to 41 in their 18.5 overs and won convincingly by a big margin of 88 runs who helped them to improve their run rate.

Chasing 130 for victory, Bangladesh-W bowlers were keeping Malaysia's batters tied from the very first over and not allowing leak easy runs. But the turn of the game changed in Fariha Trisna's over, who hit a hat-trick in her very first match. Malaysia lost Winifred early for 5. Mas Elysa and Mahira Ismail were dismissed without opening their account. The middle order did not contribute much. None of the batters scored runs in two digits. The top score was 9 runs, this is the reason for Malaysia's defeat and no batsman could show any special performance.

Bangladesh bowling was brilliantly led by Trisna as she picked up 3 for 12 in her 4 overs. Fahima Khatun, Sanjida Meghla, and Rumana Ahmed were economical and took a couple of wickets. Salman Khatun also bowled tidy spells and got a wicket-a-piece.

A complete all-around performance takes Bangladesh Women to number 3 on the points table.

Stay Tuned for the Presentations.
