Milestone
That's it from what was another one-sided game in the Women's Asia Cup 2022 with the Women in Blue ticking a lot of boxes before the tougher challenges await them. Do join us for all other fixtures around the globe in our network. For now, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Tugral Azmi and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay safe, happy, and cool and we will catch up with you soon. Goodbye and CHEERS!
Jemimah Rodrigues (Players of the Match): "My mentality is basic. I simply go out there and provide as many goals as I can for the group. I merely desired to get momentum. Deepti and I had the same conversation. It took some time because the wicket is not the simplest. Deepti and I have a good partnership at the time of the commonwealth games. We have done same in the today's game as well."
Players of the match: Jemimah Rodrigues
Smriti Mandhana (India Women Captain): "Yes, definitely. They bowled well in the powerplay to restrict us to 27/3. But Jemi and Deepti batted well to get us to get over 170. They batted really well. As far as UAE, they batted well and made us work hard. Credit to them. The bowlers were given a task to practice and go according to the plans and I am glad we did that. I think we wanted the batters to have a hit out there and Deepti, Jemimah, and the others also did well to get some time in. We have two big games coming up against Pakistan and Bangladesh. Looking forward to it."
Chaya Mughal (UAE-W Captain): "The way we began bowling was excellent, in my opinion. In some of the areas, we need to make improvements. When you get off to a strong start, you must maintain that momentum. Although we have capable openers, they were unable to contribute anything. We took this as a good sign because our middle order performed admirably."
Right then, time for the post-match presentation ceremony.
That ends one of the most one-sided games seen in the Women's Asia Cup 2022. India Women have comprehensively beaten UAE Women by 104 runs to make it 3 wins out of 3 games and go top of the points table. UAE Women have done well to play out the 20 overs, but they were never in the chase.

After losing three wickets inside the first five overs much like India, UAE never showed intent in going after the target as they wanted to bat out the 20 overs. Kavisha Egodage and Khushi Sharma came together at the score of 5/3 and the duo put on 58 for the fourth wicket as they had something to play with and take home about. Kavisha remained unbeaten on 30 off 54 balls while Khushi fell in the end for 29 off 50 balls as UAE Women ended with 74/4 in 20 overs.

A couple of wickets for Rajeshwari Gayakwad, and a wicket for Hemalatha to go with a run-out to start the innings. It was a good workout for the Indian bowlers. They bowled well without much pressure and gave away only 4 extras in the innings.

Earlier in the game, India Women did not get off to the best of starts after opting to bat first as they lost their first three wickets inside 5 overs and the score had barely touched 20 runs. Only Meghana got to 10 amongst the first three wickets to fall. Thereafter, it was the Deepti Sharma-Jemimah Rodrigues show.

The duo stitched a magnificent 128-run stand for the fourth wicket. Deepti Sharma played second fiddle in the partnership and held one end up for her 64 off 49 balls. Jemimah Rodrigues continued her good form in the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 as she scored an unbeaten 75 off 45 balls. Cameos from Pooja Vastrakar (13 off 5), and Kiran Navgire (10*off 4) took India to a mammoth 178-5 in 20 overs.

A wicket apiece for Mahika Gaur, Chaya Mughal, Esha Rohit Oza, and Suraksha Kotte. Mahika was impressive as we expected her to be. The leg spinner Mahesh went wicketless today. UAE Women were a bit tardy in the field as well. Even UAE Women gave away only 4 extras to the India Women team.

So, a win for India Women by 104 runs to go top of the points table. Stick around for the presentation coming your way shortly.
