That’s it from Game 7 in the Women’s Asia Cup between Sri Lanka and Thailand Women. This is Vatsal Negandhi signing off alongside Akshay Bhide and our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer.

Stay tuned for more exciting fixtures across the globe, until then take care and goodbye from us...!

Harshitha Madavi | Player of the Match: "I’m happy with my performance and will look to carry forward the form. My captain supported me nicely and Nilakshi also supported me from the other end. Not disappointed on missing out on the hundred as we got a good total on the board."
Harshitha Madavi is named the Player of the Match for her outstanding knock of 81.

Chamari Athapaththu | Sri Lanka Skipper: "Pretty happy with our batting performance. Especially Harshitha who has carried forward her batting form. Nilakshi is back in form and happy to see them contributing. I’m out of form but will try to get back in the next game. If we get a good start, our middle-overs batters can carry on batting. We dropped catches in the last two overs and need to improve that area in our upcoming games because catches win matches."

Naruemol Chaiwai | Thailand Skipper: "It was an improved performance today than the last game. We adapted to the conditions nicely today. We are on right track and will look to bounce back in our next game."
Time for the post-match presentation.
11:35 IST: Vatsal: A clinical performance by Sri Lanka Women as they have restricted Thailand Women to 107 for 5 in their 20 overs and won convincingly by 49 runs.

Chasing 157 for victory, Thailand lost Chantam early for 7. Nannapat Koncharoenkai played some good shots and scored 25 off 21. Chaiwai fought well and scored 19 for her side. The middle order did not contribute much. Chanida Sutthiruang coming in at 4 got an unbeaten 37 off 42 balls and took Thailand to 107 in their 20 overs.

Sri Lankan bowling was brilliantly led by Kulasuriya as she picked up 2 for 19 in her 3 overs. Sugandika Kumari was economical with 1 for 14 in her 4-over spell. Kavisha Dilhari and Inoka Ranaweera also bowled tidy spells and got a wicket-a-piece to keep Thailand to just over 105.

Earlier in the day, opting to bat 1st, Sri Lankan Women got off to a terrific start courtesy of H Madavi and C Athapaththu as they put on 63 for the 1st wicket in 8.3 overs. Athapaththu was eventually dismissed for 12 to a terrific catch by the Thai keeper. Hasini Perera coming in at 3 did not last much as she was involved in a mix-up and departed for 6.

Nilakshi de Silva joined hands with Madavi and the duo put on 61 in quick time. Madavi was eventually dismissed for a brilliant 81 off 69.De Silva in the end played some lusty shots to end with an unbeaten 39 off 21 to take SRI LANKA WOMEN beyond 150.

Thai Women bowled tidy in the first half of the innings but leaked runs at the backend. T Puttawong was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 26 in her 4-over spell. Laomi and Boochatham shared a wicket a piece.

A complete all-round performance takes Sri Lankan Women to number 3 in the points table.

Stay Tuned for the Presentations.
