That's it from our coverage of the 9th fixture of the Road Safety World Series T20 2022 England Legends and West Indies Legends from Holkar Stadium, Indore. We hope you enjoyed our coverage. Megh Mandaliya here, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer/analyst Raju Khairya. Tune in for another double header tomorrow. See you there!
Dwayne Smith, Player of the Match: "I am feeling great. I have practiced at home for this tournament and love to come to India to play here. I was disappointed as I felt was wrongly given out and so was hurt. But I had to go back as his decision is final. I think the vibe is great in the dressing room. We want to be competitive and compete with the best teams in this competition. We are happy to win tonight."
Brian Lara, West Indies Legends Skipper: "Great to be back here. A great professional performance from us. Proud of the guys. Yes, the competitive juice is there and we lost in the semi-finals last time. We want to compete against India and Sri Lanka and I think we are on the right track to do that. Great to see the crowd here despite India not playing. Thank you to the crowd for supporting all of us. I am enjoying myself here."
Ian Bell. England Legends Skipper: "No it was an amazing wicket. Rikki was great, but we were short of runs here. Dwayne was great as he is unstoppable. It was a good day overall, we enjoyed ourselves and the West Indies were too good today. We are down with injuries, but we did well to compete."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony.
11:53 PM IST | That concludes the 9th group fixture of the Road Safety World Series T20 2022 England Legends and West Indies Legends. After two rain-affected days, we finally had some play today and it is West Indies Legends who would go on to win this encounter by 8 wickets. What a dominating display from them, they truly turned back the clock.

In pursuit of 157, West Indies Legends started on an electrifying note as they orchestrated 72 off the powerplay without any loss of wickets. Openers Dwayne Smith and William Perkins smashed 14 boundaries in the powerplay and set the tempo for the West Indies. On the contrary, the England Legends lacked intent today. They kept on repeating the same mistakes and both the openers kept toiling them.
Rikki Clarke was the only bowler who picked wickets (2/16) for England Legends.

West Indies were 103 at the halfway mark and they were cruising towards a victory. Dwayne Smith lit some fireworks while William Perkins played the second fiddle. The 120-run partnership between the duo completely dismantled England bowlers. Dwayne Smith bagged the most runs 73(42), including nine boundaries and three maximums while William Perkins secured 57 (35), including 10 boundaries. Brain Lara 22(21) scored the winning runs for them and helped West Indies Legends to secure a comprehensive victory.

Before that, after losing the toss and being invited to bat first, England Legends secured 156/5. The West Indies Legends had a firm grasp in the match, before Captain Ian Bell and Daren Maddy started to stitch a partnership. The duo stitched a 48-run partnership for the third wicket and turned the pendulum towards England Legends. Maddy departed for a run-a-ball 23, but Bell 46 (43) and the pyrotechnics of Rikki Clarke 50 (25), including five maximums helped England to post 156 on the scorecard. England Legends scored five sixes in the first innings and all were scored by Rikki Clarke.

Ultimately, West Indies Legends trounced England Legends by 8 wickets and would climb up to the top of the points table. Stay Tuned for the post-match presentation!
