Earlier Bhilwara Kings scored a mountain of runs in the first inning as they were able to post 222 runs in their 20-over quota. William Porterfield was the top scorer for the Kings as he scored 64 runs off 33 balls. Swann was the Giants' most frugal bowler, taking just one wicket and allowing 34 runs to pass through his four overs.
Gujarat Giants' response to 222 runs didn't get off to the start they were hoping for when they lost Kevin O'Brien in the second over. As a result, they were only able to score 36 runs with one wicket lost in six overs. Virender Sehwag and Chris Gayle put together a sluggish 44-run partnership for the second wicket before Sehwag left the field after making 27 runs off 20 balls. Lendl Simons, Chigumbura, and Chris Gayle returned to the dressing room quickly and they were struggling at 54 runs for the loss of five wickets in 8.4 overs. Gujarat Giants kept losing regular wickets and were bundled at 165 runs.
On the flip side, S Sreesanth was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 3 wickets giving away 36 runs in his 4 overs quota. Jesal Karia and Fidel Edwards shared a couple of wickets each. Tino Best, Monty Panesar, and Dinesh Salunkhe shared one wicket each.
Stay tuned for the presentation.
