Aaron Redmon and Anton Devcich walked out to open the innings for New Zealand Legends. Johan Botha broker through early and dismissed Devcich. The New Zealand batter just couldn't get going, they lost wickets at regular intervals and in no time were struggling with the score of 35-4!
Ross Taylor, Jacob Oram, Neil Broom and Craig McMillan all were dismissed in single digits, the spinners were very difficult to pick, Dean Brownlie was the one who was solid at one end, he got some help in the form of Gareth Hopkins, other they stitched up a much-needed partnership and took New Zealand Legends to 99 at the end of their innings.
Tshabalala and Botha were simply fantastic today, together they picked up 7 wickets and just broke the back of the batting order!! 100 was the target for South Africa Legends.
Morne van Wyk and Andrew Puttick walked out the open the batting and we were aggressive from the get-go. They made use of the powerplay and took the game away from South Africa Legends. Bruce Phillips was introduced into the attack and managed to get the wicket of van Wyk. Alviro Petersen joined Puttick in the middle and together they stitched up a match-winning partnership and took their teams over the finish line!! RSAL won the match with 9 wickets and 6.3 overs still remaining!!
