That's the end of the game here in Basin Reserve Willington, New Zealand. Hope you have enjoyed all the action here at our network. For now, this is me Saipavan Janaki signing it off along with my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee alongside our scorer Ashok Dayma. Stay tuned for more coverage going on in our network, take care, stay safe and enjoy!!!!
Cole McConchie (Canterbury Kings Captain): "Good win to get there with a win in a tight game. It was tough as the bowlers got it right it was a tight wicket. Tom played well for them and Fletcher was good as well. There were nervous and cannot take anything for granted. I think the bowlers make my job as captain and they are executing the job and plans. Foulkes is doing a great job both with bat and ball. I think the nice position on the table. We are trying to bring out a good 40 overs. We have been good in patches and the challenge is to bring it together. We need a polished performance in the next few games. Hopefully, a clinical display from us next time."
Peter Younghusband (Wellington Firebirds Captain): "Yes, very gutted and we lost three in a row. We have fallen in the last hurdle with our bowlers. We are good enough and with the bat, we are leaving runs out there and Fletcher played well in the end. Tom showed his class and he was great today. We would have liked 160 and our bowlers are doing an exceptional job and we can't get over the line. We have to keep wickets in hand at the top of the order. "
Cam Fletcher (Gamechanger of the Match): "Yes, it was an awesome win for us. Every match matters and we are sticking to the basics and process. The table is tight, to say the least. I found it difficult at the start. The ball was holding up and the pace was off the ball. They bowled well and made it tough. But I backed myself. We kept it simple and supported Foulkes and he did his job with the bat and ball. I enjoy playing and hitting the ball hard and well."
