That’s a wrap from our side as well. We appreciate your participation from all across the world. On behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and Scorer/Analyst Raju Khariya, I, Deepak Prakash, am signing off. Please join us for the other fixtures across the world. Until then, Ta-Ta, Bye-Bye.✌✌
Peter Younghusband(Wellington Captain): "Yeah, obviously I thought we were in the game but, that one over cost us the game. When I look at myself I made lots of decisions sometimes the right ones and sometimes the wrong ones but It was a great game of cricket in the end."
Robert O'Donnell (Gamechanger of the Match and Auckland Aces Captain): "Nice to contribute. The pitch was slow, but it was still a good batting wicket. We had to target an over and glad we did it. Yes, you want to be performing like that and bat with Kyle out there and this is the icing on the cake to win this. This win is important no matter how we win. It's gotten a lot tighter and we expected that, but we are happy with the win. Ultimately, we started well and Logan came and decided to play a beauty. Someone gets a tap and we had that. You want to play to perfection, but these wins help. Yes, we have got to keep finding ways to win the games. We did that."
12:09 PM IST | Deepak: An electrifying inning of 59 off 27 balls from skipper Robert O'Donnell💥 helped Auckland Aces to thump Wellington Firebirds by 2 wickets.🙌

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Wellington posted 153 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Their inning was anchored by a masterclass inning by Logan van Beek, who scored a crucial 54 runs off 36 balls and helped his side post a 153-run total. On the other hand, Ben Lister and Sean Solia shared a couple of wickets each for Auckland.

In pursuit of Wellington’s 153 runs, Auckland got off to a decent start as their openers George Worker and Cole Briggs started batting sensibly and posted 34 runs without losing any wickets in the powerplay. Their progress was halted when George Worker departed after scoring 18 runs off 21 balls and forging a partnership of 44 runs for the first wicket.

William O'Donnell joined Cole Briggs at number three but didn’t settle in the middle and departed for just 3 runs off 4 balls. He was followed by Cole Briggs in the very next over, who departed for 35 runs off 33 balls. Halfway through the inning, Auckland were 3 down for 62.

Auckland faced a mini-collapse in the middle and were in deep trouble at 76/5 in the 13th over. Skipper Robert O'Donnell and Kyle Jamieson took responsibility for steadying the sinking ship and started scoring briskly. The pair put on a 65-run partnership for the sixth wicket, and skipper Robert O'Donnell was out for a rapid 59 runs off 27 balls. Auckland lost a couple of quick wickets near the end of the inning, but Kyle Jamieson remained unbeaten on 12 runs off 11 balls to help Auckland win by two wickets.

On the other hand, Peter Younghusband, and  Nathan Smith were the pick of the bowlers for the Aces as they extracted three wickets each. Ollie Newton and Michael Snedden contributed one wicket each.

Overall it was a great game of cricket which kept the fans on the edge of their seats till the last over of the game. Wellington will look to continue a similar approach in the upcoming games while Auckland needs to regroup and come back stronger in the upcoming matches.

Stay tuned for the presentation...
