That concludes the presentation and that also wraps up our coverage of the 12th fixture of the Super Smash 2022-23 between Central Stags and Auckland Aces from Pukekura Park, New Plymouth. We hope you enjoyed our coverage. Megh Mandaliya here, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Tugral Azmi, and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer.  Join us tomorrow for the 13th fixture between Northern Brave and Otago Volts. See you there!
Tom Bruce (Central Stags Captain): "Yes, it is a matter of great pleasure that we have won all three matches that we have played at home and we would like to continue the same momentum in the future. Auckland's opening pair started aggressively but slowed down a bit in the second half due to extreme conditions, which we took full advantage of and stopped them on a low target. Yes, it is very important to have a highly experienced player among you, and the way Ross Taylor performed today, will help us to play a key role."

Robert O Donnell (Auckland Aces Captain): “Really a good game of cricket. It was a competitive score as the wicket was tough to bat on but Ross Taylor came on and took the game away from us. Our bowling was pretty good today and also Cole Briggs was good in the powerplay today. Good to see him stepping up."

Jayden Lennox (Player of the match): "I am not wrong that I like this ground very much and I like to bowl here very much. The stadium which has short boundaries increases the responsibility of the bowlers, where sixes are being hit every second and if you take wickets in the middle overs, then you are doing very important work for your team."

10:35 AM IST | Central Stags continues their home dominion and has defeated Auckland Aces by 4 wickets in a last-over thriller.

In pursuit of a below-par total of 151. Stags lost a wicket in the very first ball of the chase as Louis Delport outwitted right-handed Greg Hay 0(1). That was soon followed by the departure of his opening companion as Delport once again struck to send Ben Smith 1(3) back to the pavilion.

The gloveman Dave Cleaver and Ross Taylor then came together to resurrect the Stags’ innings and they did that exceptionally well. The right-handed duo absorbed the pressure early on before swatting at full throttle. The duo stitched a quick 65-run partnership and swung the pendulum back in favor of Stags.

Just when Cleaver and Taylor were completely taking the game away from Aces, the golden arm of Sean Solia dismissed Cleaver for 33(31). However, experienced Taylor brought up his half-century and joined forces with Josh Clarkson before departing after accumulating 50(40), including 1 four and 4 maximums.

The Stags were tottering at 106/5 after the dismissal of Taylor and it was once again up to the partnership of Doug Bracewell and Josh Clarkson to finish things off for the Stags but a late breakthrough of Clarkson 19(15) once again handed the momentum to Aces. However, Bracewell 24(11) continued his blistering form with the bat and hunted down 9 in the last over to bestow Stags their third-consecutive victory.

Earlier in the day, after being invited to bat first, Auckland Aces registered 150/9 on board. Openers George Worker and Cole Briggs started the innings on an electrifying note by stitching 63 off the powerplay. Briggs exploited the shorter square boundaries and secured 45(25) before Tom Bruce dismissed him.

That was soon followed by the wicket of his opening companion Worker for 28(23) as debutant Liam Dudding attained his maiden breakthrough. Following that breakthrough, the Stags pulled the game back immensely as the Aces lost 4 wickets under 40 runs.

Raymond Toole mixed his pace well and was the pick of the bowlers for Stags by claiming 3 crucial wickets. Similarly, Jayden Lennox also was tidy throughout his stint and completed with the figures of 2/15.
Doug Bracewell Brett Randell and Dudding also chipped in with a wicket. Stick around for the post-match presentation!
