That concludes the presentation and that also wraps up our coverage of the 8th fixture of the Super Smash 2022-23 between Central Stags and Northern Brave from Pukekura Park, New Plymouth. Megh Mandaliya here, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee, and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Join us tomorrow for the 9th fixture between Canterbury Kings and Wellington Firebirds. See you there!
Tom Bruce (Central Stags Captain): "Yes, absolutely proud of the effort of the guys. A great advertisement for the game. I enjoy these games as the pendulum swings from one way to another.  Yes, look both guys were outstanding. Ross is getting into the groove, Clarky has done it two in a row. Doug was outstanding and this was more than a cameo for sure. Happy with the effort of the guys and the win. Thank You very much."
Jeet Raval (Northern Brave Captain): “Great spectacle all around, unfortunately, we came on the wrong side but a great game overall. It can be hard defending in these venues and their batters did a really good job in the end and put us under the pump. But it is a great learning experience for us and some of our bowlers played here for the first time."
Doug Bracewell (GameChanger of the Match): "Yes we made it tough for ourselves. It was an awesome game and good to get over the line and win at home. It is and we are working hard on our game. I am improving my skills. I think the ground here is a great ground to bat on. A good pitch and a fast outfield also help us. Cheers, and Thank You."

9:43 AM IST | In a game where the pendulum oscillated to and fro, the Central Stags have found themselves victorious here and they have defeated Brave by 3 wickets.

In pursuit of a mammoth total of 218, the Stags openers Greg Hay and Ben Smith started on a sedate note by orchestrating only 22 of the first three overs. Stags needed early boundaries to sustain in this fixture, but instead, they lost Smith 16(13) early on, who edged one to the keeper.

In-form Dane Cleaver then joined forces with Hay to cushion a 34-run partnership before Stags lost two wickets in quick succession. The gloveman Cleaver secured 32(21) before he was trapped by Joe Walker. Following that, Ross Taylor hammered the bowlers all around the park and swatted 30(14) before Mitchell Santner struck two quick wickets and completely turned the tide.

However, Josh Clarkson and Doug Bracewell had other arrangements. Stags were tottering at 121/5 when Clarkson and Bracewell came together and in the next five overs, they completely changed the pendulum once again in favor of Stags.

Bracewell aggregated 39(18), including 5 maximums and Clarkson continued his blistering form and accumulated 58(29). Including 6 fours and 3 maximums.  Eventually, the 83-run partnership between the right-handed duo made the target look too easy and attained t
wo back-to-back victories for Central Stags.

Earlier in the day, after being invited to bat first, Northern Brave registered 217/9 on the board. The 79-run opening partnership was ceased in the 8th over as Lennox had the wood over Clarke 41(24). But Seifert brought up his half-century before Doug Bracewell got rid of him at 59(30).

Following that wicket, the Brave crumbled like a pack of cards as they lost 4 wickets in the next 5 runs but Jeet Raval played a captain’s knock and secured 60(29). Scott Kuggeleijn also chipped in with 27(11) to cruise Northern past 200. Stick around for the post-match presentation!

19.4 B Hampton to B Randell
4 FOUR! That's it! Randell comes out there and lofts this length ball straight down the ground over mid-on as the ball goes away a couple of bounces and into the fence as the Stags win this thriller by 3 wickets with 2 balls left.

Another twist in the tale! Hampton has done the trick for Stags and we are leveled again. 3 needed of as many deliveries.
19.3 B Hampton to J Clarkson
W WICKET! Oh, dear! Short of a length slower ball outside off, Clarkson looks to go over covers and hits it straight into the hands of the deep cover fielder. The fielder makes no mistake as the 7th one goes down for 215 here. 3 runs are now needed off 3 balls.
19.2 B Hampton to J Clarkson
4 FOUR!  This is the hit that will seal it. Short and wide, here, Clarkson swings hard and gets it up and over the point region as the ball races away to the third-man fence in no time. Just 3 needed now.
19.1 B Hampton to J Clarkson
0 Hampton will bowl the final over of the game.  Back of a length slower ball outside off, Clarkson swings and misses through to the keeper.

18.6 K Clarke to B Johnson
2 Fuller and wide outside off, Johnson drives it hard through the covers as the fielder dives to stop the ball. The batters get a couple of runs.  The umpires are checking for a clean stop and it seems that the fielder has done well. Two runs to finish the over. 7 off 6 balls required now.
18.5 K Clarke to J Clarkson
1 A low full toss here, Clarkson swings it away to the midwicket region for a single.
A huge roar from the spectators as Pringle lets it slip through at short fine leg.
18.4 K Clarke to B Johnson
3 Good length on the pads, Johnson flicks it to the short fine leg fielder who misfields and allows two extra runs here. He is off the mark with a triple.
18.4 K Clarke to B Johnson
WD Brett Johnson is the new batter here.  WIDE!  Angling away outside the off-stump and is called wide by the umpire.
