11:40 PM IST: It was a dominating performance by the team who are at rock bottom on the points table!! KPK were outplayed in all the departments today, It was a great performance by Southern Punjab and they would be looking to replicate the performance tomorrow as well. That's it from us, join us tomorrow for all the action from the National Cup, I am Ovaise Shariff signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Shashank Surely and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Have a great weekend! Goodnight!
Salman Agha(Southern Punjab Captain): "Obviously, when you are out of form and play such an inning, you feel good!! In do or die situation, we give it out best!! We have a complete performance in the tournament. Good to have Maqsood back in the team, he should us today, what a dangerous batter he is. We have back-to-back games and look forward to winning tomorrow as well."
Usman Khalid (KPK Captain): "We either score runs at the beginning or late towards the end, The bowlers have down well through the tournament, it's the batting department who has failed!! We will try to play positive cricket and will go back to the room and rest well."
Sohaib Maqsood (Player of the Match): "Credit goes to the bowlers, 130(133) score is taken on any day, I hadn't played many games this season, was struggling in the initial part of my innings, but got into my rhythm soon and took the team home, our bowling was always good we didn't get enough support from the batting unit, we have been doing well no with our batting too. We have a must win game tomorrow hope all stand up."
Time for the post match presentation.

The bottom dwellers have won the match against all odds. It was a commendable performance, Southern Punjab has outplayed KPK in all 3 departments today, they have won the match by 6 wickets!!

Earlier in the day KPK won the toss and opted to bat first. Sahibzada Farhan 16 off 18 and Isarullah 17 off 11 , gave a good start to KPK, They started off brilliantly smashing 31 runs in the first 3 overs, but Mohammad Ilyas was introduced into the attack and pulled the game back towards the Southern Punjab team, He got rid of both the openers in the space of three deliveries inside the powerplay.

Hasan Khan and Majid Ali got through their overs very quickly, they managed to keep the run-scoring down and also picks up wickets which put KPK in the backfoot. Rehan Ahmed, Adil Amin, Mohammad Sarwar and Ali Azmat fell cheaply KPK were struggling with 74/6 at the 14th over mark.

Kamran Ghulam put some live into the game, he hammered a 40-ball 54, which included 1 four and 4 sixers and helped his team to get to a formidable total of 133.

Umar Siddiq and Zain Abbas walked out to open the batting for Southern Punjab, Zain who was the man in form got out for a duck early on, he was dismissed by Ihsanullah. Sohaib Maqsood joined Umar Siddiq in the middle and together they stitched up a brilliant partnership, Umar was playing a very attacking knock and was well complimented on the other end by Maqsood.

Mohammad Sarwar was introduced into the attack, he was successful in breaking the partnership and sending Umar Siddiq back to the dressing room on 26 of 13. Sohaib Maqsood continued with his merry way and got to a well-made 50, Agha Salman who was out of form in this tournament showed some brilliance with the bat briefly. Salman was dismissed by Khalid Usman on 33 of 28 but it was too late by that time for Khyber Paktunkhwa.

Sohaib Maqsood took his team over the line with an unbeaten 61 of 44 balls, He was outstanding today coming back after an injury!! Southern Punjab have definitely missed his services in this tournament!!

15.1 Ihsanullah to S Maqsood
4 FOUR!! MAQSOOD DOES IT IN STYLE!! Ihsanhullah with a hit-me-delivery, full on the pads, no one in the deep midwicket region, Maqsood steers it towards that area and the players were already started shaking hands even before the ball made it to the ropes. Southern Punjab's hopes remain alive as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa suffer fourth defeat on the bounce.

W GONE!! SIRAJ GOES FOR THE WINNING RUN BUT PERISHES!! Short and wide form Arshad Iqbal, Siraj goes for the flashy uppercut towards the off side, gets a feather of the outside edge and keeper Rehan Afridi, who is having an excellent day won't be dropping such easy catches.
Umpires are having a calculation problem as they feel two is required to win, but the scorecard suggests 1 to win which is correct.
14.5 A Iqbal to Maqsood
1 Back of a length delivery on the off stump, Siraj runs it down to third man for a single.
14.4 A Iqbal to S siraj
1 Short again, rises higher at the face of the batter, Maqsood does well to keep it down towards deep point for a single.
14.3 A Iqbal to S siraj
0 Short and around middle and off, Siraj defends it between the point and cover fielder and robs a single.
14.2 A Iqbal to S Maqsood
1 Fuller length ball, around middle and off, Maqsood pats it towards deep extra cover and gets Siraj on strike.
14.1 A Iqbal to S Maqsood
0 Short and quick around the off stump line, Maqsood looks to dab it to the off side and the ball whistles past his outside edge.
