Vatsal: Brilliant win for Balochistan as they beat Central Punjab by 7 wickets at Multan
Earlier in the day, Central Punjab Opting to Bat 1st got off to a decent start with Shafique (19) and Akhlaq (10). M Faizan coming in at No.3 played a quickfire inning of 26 off just 12 balls. They lost 3 wickets inside the first 6 overs. T Tahir played a good hand of 21 and skipper Q Akram departed early for 1. S Malik (44 off 30) along with A Yamin (37 off 24) got together and had a partnership of 62 in just over 6 overs to get the score beyond 165. Excellent recovery by Central Punjab since they were reeling at 99 for 6 at one point.
The Balochistan bowling was good as they kept picking
wickets at regular intervals. Amad Butt was the star of the show with 4 wickets
for 30 runs. J Khan, Shahzad, Yasir Shah, and K Bhatti picked up a wicket a
piece for their side to keep Central Punjab below 170.
Chasing 170, Balochistan got off to a brilliant start with Shafiq and Haseebullah
as they added 96 for the 1st wicket inside 12 overs. Shafiq was dismissed for 47. Haseebullah continued and scored 72 for his side before getting dismissed. A Bangalzai coming in at 3 scored a quick-fire 46* off just 24 balls as he put on the finishing touches and chased the score in 19 overs to give Balochistan the victory.
The Central Punjab bowlers did not bowl well as the batters got the better of them. A Yamin was the standout with 1 for 20 in his 4. Faizan picked up 2 for 26 in his 3 overs. The rest of the bowlers went wicketless and made the work easy for Balochistan batters.
A complete performance from the Balochistan side as they pick their 4th win of the season.
