That's it from our coverage of the 2nd Pakistan National T20 fixture between Central Punjab and Balochistan hosted by Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. We hope you enjoyed our coverage. Megh Mandaliya here, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Tune in for another double header tomorrow, and stay tuned for other fixtures around the globe. See you soon!

Yasir Shah | Balochistan Skipper: "Good start to the competition. Our batters batted brilliantly and gave us a solid start. The top-order contributed and helped us post a good total. We have a good combination and there are exciting young players on our side. In T20s at this venue, we have always seen some high-scoring games and it was good to finish on the winning side while defending the total."

Faheem Ashraf | Central Punjab Skipper: "The morning game was a low-scoring one. But once the game progressed, I talked with the bowlers and asked how the ball was coming onto the bat. We made up for the runs in the batting but conceded too many in the last overs. The pitch was good and we had to restrict the run-flow and avoid boundaries. We had started aggressively in the powerplay and it would have changed the result of the match."

Abdul Bangalzai: "When I walked in to bat, two wickets had fallen. So I decided to take some time in the middle and once I got set, I started playing my strokes freely and happy that I scored some runs."

Irfan Niazi: "Thanks to the almighty that I performed well today. I was confident in my strengths and I had hopes that I will take the side across the line. But they bowled well and restricted us."

Irfan Niazi and Abdul Bangal are the joint winners of the player of the match award.
Time for the post-match presentation.
Megh: That brings a close to the second match of the Pakistan National T20 2022 and Balochistan opens up their tally. What a fantastic contest from both the teams, it went right down the wire. In pursuit of 187, Central Punjab started sluggishly as they managed to put on only 33 in the powerplay. Amad Butt got the first breakthrough for Baluchistan as he got rid of Ahmed Shehzad 17 (19), who was not able to connect anything properly. This soon followed the wicket of Abdullah Shafique 15 (18), who looked disoriented today.

The pressure always kept mounting on Central Punjab and they never really accelerated the innings. Moreover, they needed a partnership on one end but the wicket kept tumbling. On a positive note, Tayyab Tahir scored a half-century on this slow wicket. He demonstrated some unorthodox shots and scored 51 (33), including seven boundaries and one maximum. The pyrotechnics of Irfan Niazi 57 (31) and Faheem Ashraf 18 (8) gave Baluchistan an opportunity but the target was too much for them.

Prior to that, Baluchistan, who attained the wooden spoon last season, took a brave call to bat first after winning the flip. Haseebullah 13 (11) and Shafiq 23 (12) gave them a striking start as they stitched 36 under four overs. Ahmed Daniyal kept on claiming breakthroughs and finished his spell with the figures of 4/28 but the 111-run partnership between Shan Masood and Abdul Bangalzai resurrected the Baluchistan innings and gave them momentum going forward into the second innings.

Ultimately, Baluchistan won this encounter by 2 runs. They will now face the Southen Punjab on Thursday. Similarly, Central Punjab will lock horns with the defending champions Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tomorrow.  Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.

19.6 K Shahzad to Niazi
1 One run and Shahzad wins it for Balochistan. Nails the yorker outside off, Niazi fails to get underneath this one as he only manages to drive it straight to Yasir at covers who mops it up. A heartbreak for Niazi and Central Punjab as they fell short by two runs. All smiles in the Balochistan camp as they get off to a winning start.
4 off the last delivery. Can Irfan Khan Niazi get them over the line?
19.5 K Shahzad to Niazi
2 Shahzad bowls a pinpoint yorker on the stumps, Niazi can only hit it towards long on and Mir touches the crease and turns quickly to complete two runs. The fielder out on the boundary was slow to get off the blocks and it allows the batters to complete two runs. 4 required from the last ball.
19.4 K Shahzad to Niazi
2 Shahzad bowls on a length outside off, Niazi shuffles across and looks to slog it but mistimes it wide of long on for a couple of runs. Central Punjab are one shot away from victory here. 6 required from 2 now.
Shahzad is having a chat with Yasir Shah and Amad Butt. What's he gonna bowl?
19.3 K Shahzad to Niazi
4 FOUR!!!! Niazi brings up his fifty but he knows that the game is not over. A low full toss outside off, Niazi gets low and drills it past the diving covers fielder for a boundary. Beats long off and collects a boundary. 8 from 3 now. Pressure on Shahzad.
19.3 K Shahzad to Niazi
WD Shahzad bowls it on a length well outside off and Niazi swings at it but misses. The umpire signals it wide. It's a harsh call to be honest.
19.2 K Shahzad to Niazi
6 SIXXX!!! Ohhh Yessss....It's Game On!!!! Niazi hits a massive six. A low full toss from Shahzad on leg, Niazi brings out his bottom hand and whips it over mid wicket fence for a biggie. That's what will happen if you miss the mark in the last over. 13 required now from four balls.
19.1 K Shahzad to Niazi
0 A dot to start the last over. Nails the yorker outside off, Niazi swings at it but fails to get any bat to it.
