We're done now on our end as well. We appreciate your participation from all across the world. On behalf of my co-commentators Nikhil, Tugral, and Scorer/Analyst Yogesh, I, Deepak Prakash, am signing off. Please join us for the other fixtures across the world. Until then, Ta-Ta, Bye-Bye.

Deepak: That concludes the first ODI between the West Indies Women and New Zealand Women. Where New Zealand Women defeated West Indies Women by 5 runs (D\L method). The match was reduced to 35 overs each due to the soggy outfield and delayed start, but in the end, due to bad light, the officials decided to end the match, and the Kiwis won this game by 5 runs. The West Indies side was not happy with the decision as this match could have gone to either side.

Earlier, the West Indies women scored 168 runs while losing 7 wickets after being asked to bat first in the first inning. A partnership of 83 runs for the sixth wicket between Kyshona Knight and Chinelle Henry helped them to a decent total after they were half down for 74 runs in 20.5 overs. The top scorer for the West Indies was Chinelle Henry, who struck 44 runs off of 34 balls. On the other hand, Jensen and Hannah Rowe each shared one wicket, while Jess Kerr and Fran Jonas each took two for the Kiwis.

In reply to 169 runs, the Kiwis started their innings with a bang and they were able to score 54 for the first wicket as Sophie Devine departed scoring 25 runs off 24 balls. Suzie Bates completed her 29th ODI fifty on the occasion and departed after scoring 51 runs off 65 balls.

Amelia Kerr and Maddy Green took the charge in the middle and started batting sensibly. The pair added 31 runs for the 3rd wicket as Maddy Green departed, after scoring 18 runs off 34 balls, and was soon followed by Lauren Down(4 of 3) and Hayley Jensen (5 of 11). Amelia Kerr remained unbeaten till the end and scored 47 runs off 67 balls and helped her team to win this match by 5 runs.

New Zealand Women have won this game by 5 runs as per the D/L method.
The D/L par score by this time would be 153 runs. New Zealand Women are 6 runs ahead of the D/L score but we still await the final decision.
NIKHIL: Bad light here and the Umpires have merged in the middle and the Kiwi coach is out in the middle. The cut-off time has been reached here as it was 3.26 AM IST ( 17:56 PM Local Time ).

4 FOUR!!! It is all happening here on Caribbean soil. A boundary right after a wicket in a close game. Fuller delivery wide of the off-stump, Kerr has sliced this over the fielder at cover-point for a boundary.
