run-chase of the season. So, a complete effort from the Kyle Mayers-led side.
Guyana Amazon Warriors will be disappointed with both their batting and bowling departments. After posting a below-par 108, Guyana got off to a bad start as Rahkeem Cornwall and Kyle Mayers went blazing in the Powerplay. The duo ensured that the Royals reached 32 runs after the first two overs. Veerasammy Permaul immediately removed Cornwall and finished off a fine third over. However, Mayers continued to be destructive before he eventually fell in the 5th over off Odean Smith's bowling. It didn't matter much for the Royals as Harry Tector produced a quick 14-run cameo even though Gudakesh Motie got his man eventually by castling the Irishman!
The experienced Permaul gave some hope for Guyana by trapping Teddy Bishop in front but Corbin Bosch showed his class with some lusty hitting. The South African all-rounder stayed unbeaten till the end with 26 off 11 balls to take his side home with ten balls to spare!
