Saipavan: The Gulbarga Mystics have
won this encounter by beating Mangalore United by 28 runs. With
this win, they register their fifth win of the competition and replace Mysore
Warriors at the second spot in the points table.
Chasing 165, the United started inning with skipper Samarth and Noronha, but they both never looked comfortable in middle and dismissed Samarth at 7 runs. Jose joined with Noronha and they built up a partnership of 25 runs for the 2nd wicket. United managed to score 36 runs and lost 1 wicket in their powerplay overs. Noronha departed at 14 in 18 balls and the same over Jose was also dismissed at 14 in 11 balls. United lost their 3 important wickets in 36 runs.
But Abhinav Manohar and Sujay Sater never allowed the Mystics bowlers to
settle down as they pounced on anything loose and kept the scoreboard ticking.
They both put 67 between them before Sater departed at 22. Afterward, Sharath also contributed his 9 runs in the middle and was dismissed. Abhinav Manohar completed his half-century and departed at 51 in
34 balls with the help of 2 fours and 3 sixes then no one will looked comfortable
in middle and they finished at 137. Wadhwani picked 3 wickets. Pranav Bhatia and

Earlier in the day, Mangalore United skipper Samarth won the
toss and opted to bowl first. Mystics started their innings with Rohan Patil and Devdutt Padikkal but they lost the wicket of Rohan in the third ball
of the inning at 2. Acharya joined
with Padikkal and started to resurrect the innings. Acharya looked solid in the
middle but was given out on 9. Padikkal also departed at 25 runs. Blasters lost
5 wickets at 57 runs on board.
Afterward, Manish Pandey
and Ajit Karthik looked both good in the middle and built up a partnership of 82
runs for 6th wicket. Manish Pandey completed his 3rd
fifty in KPl and dismissed at 58 runs off 40 balls but Karthik stayed unbeaten at
38 and Ritesh Bhatkal finished the inning
with boundary and knocked 18 runs off 6 balls with a strike rate off 300 and
Mystics scored 164 runs loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs quota. Vijaykumar Vyshak was the pick of the bowler, went
for 31 runs in his 4 overs for 2 wickets while Sharath also picked 2 wickets, and bowled
4 overs for 43. Shashi Kumar took one wicket.
